I just wanted to post this...becuase I constantly read scary stories about bank accounts, banks unwilling to help and accounts being forced open. Due to my recent check writing events, I have been in contact with my bank over the past few days. While talking to the customer service rep who was helping me with the pdls, (we had put the account on deposit only status) I inquired as to the status of my account...she looked it up and it is CLOSED TO ALL TRANSACTIONS!!!! Yeah!!! And, every attempt to debit was returned and I was assured it will not be forced back open. It has been closed for 20 days now. It is a small victory but an important one in this battle.
