Hi everyone. Just wanted to share a bit of good news with you. I am one ipdl free as of today. 500fastcash agreed to mark my account PIF with the LEGAL amount I owe them provided I send it in by moneygram today. I am on my way shortly to get them out of my life for good. Just 2 more to go!!! Thanks to all for all of your helpful advice! I would have never had the courage to do it without you.

Good feeling it is! Who are the other two? Maybe we could offer some insight from our own experience..

The other two are unitedcashloans (just placed a call to the Oklahoma atty. general's office and department of consumer finance to find out more information about making complaints) and nationwide cash loans. They are not wanting to budge an inch and want to charge me additional rollover fees because I closed my checking account. I think that Nationwide will budge with some persistence, but I don't even want to talk to ucl anymore!!!

Congrats for the success so far. As long as you are following the laws of your state and ready to pay the legal amount, these companies cannot make an extra single penny. Just keep your AG involved in this matter and the loan places will be forced to work with you legally.

Thanks! The post marked "guest" is me. I forgot to log in. Whoops! I am prepared to be threatened. I am amazed at the things they can get away with saying to people. I haven't been the victim of their threats yet, but I've read about what they have said to others. They are real a$$es.

Congratulations! You did much better than I did. I only owed 500fastcash $20 on principal and they would not budge at all!!!

That's what I'm going through with ucl. They won't budge at all. I think I'm going to wait them out and keep sending emails stating my state's law. Maybe if I bug them enough they'll write me off to shut me up.

File suit against UCL in your district court and send them the summons.

I may end up having to take that approach. I do know that I am not sending them anymore money. They will just be wasting their breath to call and threaten. I'm hoping it won't get that far, but like I said, they're trying to stand tough. We'll see what happens.

Up until I filed my bankruptcy a couple weeks ago, I got nasty emails from United Cash Loans on a daily basis. There was no reasoning with them whatsover.
Nationwide Cash, however, finally contacted me and offered to settle for the principal amount owed after they were contacted by my state's AG.

I can only imagine the emails they sent. They sent a rather harsh email to me...something to the effect of there not being any reason to close my bank account because of a short-term loan. I am printing all of my emails from them as well as keeping copies of all of the emails I send to them. Chances are we probably will never get it settled. I probably will fair better with a third party collector. It seems like some are able to reason with third party collectors a little more...depending on who their loan is sold to...I know some of them can also be a huge pain, as well.

I thought there was something fishy about them. Their websites look EXACTLY the same...they have addresses listed in the SAME cities...I think the only thing that saved me with 500fc is that they already had $270 of my money and I was willing to send the rest within 24 hours by moneygram. Believe me I had to do some talking to get the settlement. In fact, I had to call them 3 times and I was placed on hold several times over a period of about 20 minutes while the supervisor approved the amount. I just kept repeating myself over and over and over again each time I called. I haven't paid anything on the UCL loan...but I was hoping to get a pif from them because I had a previous loan for $250 that I ended up paying $775 for (it makes me sick to think about it!) The latest loan was an extention of the first (same loan number and everything...)given to me with a $50 increase because I was such a great customer (WHAT A SUCKER I AM)...I had to have it because the $775 bled me dry!!! We'll see what happens. I will be happy with a pif even though they actually owe me money.

Sassnlucy...That's encouraging to hear about Nationwide. I hope they will end up settling for the legal amount from me without too much more heartache.
