Started with 15 PDLs

Well, when I think back on last summer I can't believe I am where I am today. I had 15 Payday loans at one time. I was in payday loan hell where I kept reactivating them in order to make payments on the others. It was literally killing me. I was getting shutoff notices and eviction threats. I had found this site last year but never thought I could get out of my vicious cycle. Then last June I started googling on payday loan consolidation and I ended back here. I did it all. Closed my checking, sent my letters, filed my complaints with BBB and the NY AG office and anywhere else I could. I then started dealing with each loan one at a time. I have obtained 11 PIFs. My remaining holdouts are Cash2day4u, 800-899-cash, My cash now, and Discount advances. All of them have been overpaid and after the initial contact over the summer I haven't heard back from them. As far as I'm concerned I'm done. I have my life back - When all seems lost just remember there is a tomorrow and you can do this. The best advice is to tackle one loan at a time and eventually you will be free.

Right on. I'm going through the same thing. I have 4 "legal" loans, which they are letting me make small payments to. I can't complain about them too much. The illegal internet ones, they're another story. They can all go to hell. Not a single one of them are getting another dime from me. As a matter of fact, one of them sent me a refund on Friday!! Those cowards didn't even try to fight me on it!! Hahahah.
Good luck and I hope it all works out for all of us!

Morning,
Reading some of the posts and the trouble people are having with PD loans, it is very refreshing to hear of someone who dealt with their issues one step at a time. That is not easy and I sure hope others who are dealing with PDL trouble reads your post! Congratulations, being on your own feet is awesome isn't it? Smile

I never thought I would be an inspiration! Surviving PDL Hell has changed me forever. I owe a ton of gratitude to this site and the veterans that stick around and lend a helping hand. I will do my best to pay it forward and help the newbies coming on board. Sometimes I have to disappear for a while since I'm a single mom of a special needs teen. (But never fear I will be back!)

You are a great example of taking control and saying "I'm going to change things!" You have control of your paycheck again!

Congratulations! That was fast work too, for so many loans! Yay! PDL FREE!!! Very Happy

One of the best things to come out of this is that I'm learning the discipline of cash only. Now that my paycheck isn't evaporating within minutes of its deposit I pay all the bills first. Then I take care of the "extras" like car maintenance, replacing that household item or picking up a winter top for my son. If after the bills are paid and the cash is budgeted for living expenses there isn't anything left then there is no extras that payday. I'm also trying to pay on the charge cards every two weeks. I'm still "catching" up from the years of PDL Hell but even if it is only an extra 10 dollars on something it gets me that much closer to being debt free. As I pay off a credit card I'm closing them down. I'm on a 5 year plan to be debt free so that I can retire when my son graduates from high school. (I decided to be a mom later in life LOL) I would have never thought I would be in this position but it was this site that made it possible.
