I just want to thank EVERYONE who has helped me with the pay day loan issue. I just can't say enough about this site. Without it, I would still be paying on these and still going negative every pay check. I received a letter from EZ Pay Day Loan yesterday informing me they have marked my account PIF and they will be sending the $162.50 they took out of my account and the $30 overdraft fee they caused me after I told them they couldn't debit my account in any way. I'm just so full of excited right now I am about to burst. I still have 4 pay day loans I have to deal with but thats now 3 down. Almost half way there! Thanks to all again!

Good luck to everyone out there trying to get these things off your back. It can be done even when you can't see the light.

Sarah

Hey Just a heads up on that one...if you can, try to avoid depositing the actual check into your checking account because then they could get your account info again if you have changed it...try cashing it at a liquor store or someplace just to be safe....

I just got an e-mail from EZ Loan. I borrowed $500.00 and when I closed my account I had repaid them $1050..
here is my answer to them.

Quote:
Dear ****,
We would like to offer you the opportunity to settle your past due debt on your account by offering you repayment for the amount borrowed ONLY which was $450.00.
This is a tremendous savings because our records indicate your total amount due including interest and fees is $1,401.80. It is imperative that you act on this offer immediately as it is only valid if you make arrangements or payment within 7 days of today's date.
By taking advantage of this offer, all negative data that we have reported on you will be removed! We hope that you see the advantage in this opportunity and hope to hear from you soon. Please feel free to contact one of our customer service representatives via phone or email should you have any questions or concerns. We are here to help!
Thanks,

To whom it may concern,
NO DEAL!!!!!!!
I borrowed $500.00, I have repaid $1,050.00... lets see, that means it over paid by the amount of $550.00. Massachusetts does not allow payday loans. You are NOT LICENSED in the state of Massachusetts to provide loans, you are operating Illegally.... I have filed a complaint with the Attorney Generals office, the FTC, and the BBB (complaint # 11003026) about your company. I do see however I am not the only one to do so.
I am requesting from you a settlement of $550.00 and a paid in full letter. I have recently been reading alot on the debt consolidation web site message boards, rip-off report, etc. and I am aware of what is legal now and what isn't. I am no longer afraid of any of your scare tactics, as you are not able to enforce any of them.

Sarah, that is great. I would have had to share the good news too.

Debbie, That is great about them pulling all the "negative data" against you. I hope that helps your credit report and credit score. Good luck getting it all cleared up!

First of all, I am glad that debbie (guest) fired off her reply to that incredible email she received regarding owing so much money. However, I must add that (in my own personal opinion) I don't advise anyone to state to a pdl that they are getting their "information" or "laws" from an internet site. The only reason I am saying this is because pdl's already accuse us of getting "misleading information" from the internet. If we start sending emails/letters stating we are getting "our information/laws" from the internet, that's just all the more ammunition for the pdl's to fire back a response stating we are incorrect.

I agree with you cannr, it is just best not to even mention where you are getting this information. Just be confident in your responses and they will know they are dealing with someone who knows what they are talking about:)
