Hi Everyone,
I know it has been a very long time since I have been on here. I had been on this site a lot trying to clean up the mess we had made of our finances. We had made great progress, until July when my husband was diagnosed with kidney cancer. It was an unexpected blow, and one we were not prepared for. We almost lost everything including our home. My husband had his kidney removed in August, and was out of work until November. He still misses a lot of work, but at least we have another paycheck coming in again. We are in the process of filing Chapter 13. We did not have any more options. we even tried to file on our own, and had our first case dismissed because we had done the paperwork all wrong. We were foolish enough to try one of those do-it-yourself programs. Don't bother using those, they are a rip-off. anyway, I just wanted to say Happy Holiday's to everyone who has been such a big help to us in the past. We have a long road a head of us, and I am sure I will be on this site more. One thing I am proud to say, is that the whole time we were trying to get by on my little income, we never once thought of trying to make ends meet by turning to payday loans again. That is a good feeling.

OMG! I was just thinking about you and the snow . . . . I'm so sorry about your husband. Is he going to be okay now?
You know, you did the right thing. You are lucky you were able to refile after the first case was dismissed. It can be tricky, and you are right about the do it yourself programs. Most of them were fine for before the BK laws changed, but now things are different.
Keep your head up! I'm sending good thoughts eastward and maybe they will do you some good!  Let me know if there is anything I can do to help. Really.

He is on an experimental study now to hopefully keep the cancer from coming back. He is not feeling good. The drugs are very hard on him. It is kind of a waiting game now. I know we were lucky to be able to file again. I can't believe what a rip off that company was. Ever heard of Bridgeport Bankruptcy? I don't recommend them to anyone.I hope with the new year we can get back on track and work on getting out of this new hole we are in.

It's good to see you back! I am so sorry about your husband health problems. You all are in my prayers.
You sound like you are on the right path for you financially- and the great news is you didn't have to resort to get a pdl!!
You will be in my prayers for a healthy recovery for your husband and an uneventful bankruptcy and that everything goes well!!..KAren
