Wheres my stimulus payment? Haven’t received it yet

All most everyone, whoever has filed the tax return in the year 2007 with the federal government, is eligible to receive the stimulus check payment form the IRS. According to IRS, even the individuals, who do not file tax returns regularly, may also receive stimulus payment this year. However, to receive the payment you're required to file the tax return even when your income is below the qualifying limit.

If you are searching for "Wheres my stimulus payment" then please go through the following eligibility criteria to receive the check from the IRS:

You should be an American citizen with a valid Social Security Number (SSN). Taxpayers with Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN), however, aren't eligible to receive the payment.
You're not added on anyone else's return as a financial dependent.
You receive 'qualifying income' of $3,000 at least; which includes income earned as wage along with the benefits received under the various social security schemes.
For married couples filing jointly, if one of the spouses doesn't have a valid SSN, the other will also lose the scope to earn the return this time.

Stimulus payment, however, doesn't affect your tax return. It neither lowers the amount that you owe to the IRS nor does it inflate the amount that is payable next year. Moreover, this forwarding form the government is tax free.

You can find the status of your stimulus check by submitting the last three digit of your SSN number in the IRS site. The fastest way to receive the payment is by opting for the direct deposit method while filing the return. IRS can then deposit the payment to your checking account directly. Otherwise, the check will be mailed to your home address.

The Internal Revenue Department has started disbursing the checks since May 02, 2008. So now you only have to wait with a crossed finger.

Has anyone that is getting a check tried to use this? I just tried and it tells me my information is incorrect... I may not be putting in the right number of exemptions, I don't have my taxes with me, but I am pretty sure I entered it correctly

you will need to put in the exact amount of exemptions on the correct line, I did it wrong the first time (only put in 3 for my 3 kids) and then looked at my 1040A sheet and got the number correct, it will be on the line 6d...example : 1 for yourself, 1 for your spouse and 1 for each child claimed. _________________ Remember: Everyday is a good day - Just some days are better than others.

I just tried "Wheres My Stimulus Payment" with every number under the sun and still didn't get anything. I owe county taxes on my car that are a little past due. I wonder if that can affect the amount.

I also went on to check and it stated that information was incorrect and it is not. I owe taxes for 2007-on an installment agreement this year with the IRS and I think it is going towards the balance due.

That could be the problem, I did it this morning correctly and it stated that mine would be direct deposited on 05/02/08, and if not shown by 05/07/08 to call the IRS. try again maybe later, they may be bogged down. _________________ Remember: Everyday is a good day - Just some days are better than others.

Does anyone know if county taxes would affect stimulus check? I don't owe any Federal. Then wheres my stimulus payment?

It shouldnt....we owed on some for our boat in the past and had no issues with the IRS refunds.

I just tried Wheres My Stimulus Payment and NOTHING , I called them and talked to a lady that said nobody can get their status info yet online....but according to the schedule I should get mine tomorrow. God I hope so I desperately need it. You are lucky deannstudent...I was unsucessful

maybe the IRS lady didnt get the memo, it shows it just went online this morning and I was able to get it to work, either way, it gave me the same info as the lady gave you. it will be deposited tomorrow due to no deposits today being done _________________ Remember: Everyday is a good day - Just some days are better than others.

I started messing with it this morning around 7am cst and again just to check to make sure I wasn't crazy about a 1/2 hour ago and still the same info. I had noticed that one of the questions in the "freq questions" section stated that the IRS was working on a rebate info system like they have on line for checking your refund status, so I tried it. deann - thanks for posting this most useful information "Wheres My Stimulus Payment"! Since information has been less than forthcoming (or very slow) from the IRS, this is a great help. There's a lot of confusion out there about the rebates and when they will arrive, now that the schedule has been moved up. Ok...now I'm totally confused. I went to the "where's my rebate" link on irs.gov and entered all my info. Nothing. It said I may have made a mistake and asked me to check my info. I did - all correct. When I hit "continue", it told me they couldn't provide any info on my rebate payment. I called the IRS, and all I got was an automated system that had me enter the same exact info, and I got the same exact answer - nada - nothing - zip. So I still don't know when I'm getting it. I don't owe the IRS, I received my refund as I should have when I filed back in February...so now I'm confused.
