Katy...if you know he has a nice home, 2 cars, etc., sounds like you know where he is. Can you use those items to track him down?

Katy, then you might want to turn that over to an attorney or legal aid. All we can do here is share our experiences, in turn, which might help you, but since you know where he is, IMHO, your best bet would be to talk with an attorney to see what recourse you have.

What really bites is when a Father does the right thing by giving his ex a payment directly from his pay check and then 18 mo later she "Forgets" that he paid and goes to the court and says "I never got paid", now she earns a Good salary ($20+/hr) and is remairried and current husband gets a Good salary ($20+/hr). Meanwhile through wage garnishment (currently earning $10/hr)he has lost his license, Never see's his son and is now homeless. What does he have left, well i can tell you that the subject of suicide has entered his mind. All it takes is for her to acknowledge the fact that she did receive that money, correct it with the courts and he has no issue paying child support because he Does believe in the right thing. All this because he did not go through the court to begin with, he wanted to make it simple and easy.

Ladies, Ive been a victim also but recently i found out if any dead beat dad has money tied up in probate over an inheritance or money owed to him-CS doesnt even know unless you call and tell them so they can put a garnishment attached(just dont get the garnishment too early or whatever is entered will not go up in value as the months pass and he owes more!!-get the attorneys name and contact him first before calling CS),If there is a warrant-police dont even go pick them up even if they know where they live-they wait for a traffic stop,If you dont do YOUR part and ASK every question possible-CS wont tell you anything-they like easy cases. You may have to go as far as turning in companies that pay these guys cash-take videos-Start by emailing your Governor how wrong the system is and you want your case investigated NOW. Truely this is the only way WE can get the DEAD beat CS to help US.Im going to turn both the dads im dealing with into the IRS because they both do not file income taxes because they work for cash. Anyways let me know if any thing helps that i havent thought of Thanks

I can tell you that in Ohio the department that handles child support WILL garnish SSI. My ex owed me 21k and once he was flagged, I started to receive about $395 per month, even though my kids have aged out of child support. My case worker always told me that I would eventually get the back payments - even if it came ot of social security. You just have to keep up with the laws in your state and keep hounding your case workers to follow the laws as they are written.

i heard that if the person who owes child support also owes the irs any money or any1 else money, the irs will take there money first, child support would be last priority....or the person didnt file...sumtimes people who owe money will get an off the books job to avoid payin CS.
