The Economic Stimulus section of IRS.gov has been updated, as of 3/14. Among other very useful information, there is now an online calculator. Drag out your 2007 return [you'll need some numbers off it] and clear five minutes from your busy day. Answer a few simple questions, and it'll tell you what to expect.

Thanks Unc-there was something I didn't know on it.

My mom is on SS and my son is on disability. I thought they could get money too, but according to that link-they can't. It says that you can no be claimed on someones tax return, or be able to be claimed--not sure what or how they figure the "be able to be claimed" so will have to re-do a few things!!

I owed back taxes and no didn't tell me on the letter they were deducting for that, it did say on the back something like "this is calulated before any outstanding tax debts". So it didn't come right out and say it, but it hinted towards it.

BTW my husband's was to be issued on Friday, just curious how long its been taking from issued to arrive?

If you have received the letter stating how much you will receive and when, it is usually about 3 days before you get it. My friend still hasn't received hers and it was suppossed to be mailed May 23rd!

I finally was on the website for mine and also got my paper from the IRS saying I should have my check by 7/5.. YEA!

Yes I was stupid and filed two tax returns via internet (not realizing that both of them took), the first one I didn't think it took as I didn't get a confirmation, but the 2nd one took as I got a confirmation number on that one...geez it's only $300.00 and I talked to yet another person two weeks ago that was going to have someone call me within 30 days, yeah I will believe that when I actually get that phone call.
