Does anyone know if it is possible to get a mortgage loan even though you owe irs a couple 3 or 4 thousand?

Yes...BUT you need to contact the IRS to arrange a payment plan. Do notlet them attempt to levy. They will work with you.

Welcome to the Community VBM is right- you need to contact themwhether you are buying a home or not. I have had to call them several times to set up payments. They were very reasonable with their payments and I never had any problems with them.

Quite honestly, i found the IRS to be more reasonable than any collection agency I have tried to work out arrangements with. They are not as scary as most people think as long as you contact them.

I know- I dreaded calling them-thought they would get me or something!! They are more reasonable than a CA. I do know if you don't contact them and ignore them, they will take action and levy--they did a friend of mine!!..
