I owe about $400 and our total stimulus is supposed to be $1500, I have a growling sewer system that needs work and could use it to to catch up on a few small bills. Hopefully it will be on schedule.

God, I am just so tired of working everyday and still being broke, LOL. It is so tiring.

Erb, I don't think owing the IRS will hold up your check. Since you owe much less then what your check is for I would think you would still get what difference according to the schedule. Have you tried checking the irs.gov's website at the where's my stimulus link? It will generally update about a week before it's scheduled to be sent. Mine was actually scheduled for direct deposit tomorrow but the website wouldn't give me any information until Monday May 12th and I actually received my payment today. So they seem to be running ahead at times and other times they're pretty close to the schedule.

Ok
Now I a little mad. Because I claimed my 18year old on my taxes he does not qualify for the stimulus payment. On top of that, because he is 18 I did not get a child credit on my taxes for 2007 and because he is 18 I do not get the 300 stimulus for him. This does not seem fair.

According to your schedule I was to get mine on the 16th, it is now the 22nd and I still have not recieved it. This money is much needed in my household due to the fact that my x has not paid me one dime of court ordered maintance in 9 weeks. The jusge has another 2 weeks to make his decision before the LAZY JUDGE LAW goes into affect. I'm totally disabled and need this money desperatly. I need help desperately and it seems no one cares. I would appreciate this check because I'm on 7 differant meds. and NO healt insurance to pay for them. If you could please check on this for me I would appreciate and I thank you for your time in advance.

Mornin' KiAyn, and welcome to the community.

You can check on the status of your stimulus payment yourself through the IRS website. If you have additional questions about the status of your payment that the IRSW site can't answer, you should contact the IRS directly. We are a community of consumer advocates, we have no stroke with the IRS.

Unless your tax debt meets certain criteria, it can't be discharged in a BK, so the IRS wouldn't have to consider that in their actions regarding your stimulus check.

In regards to your paychecks, those taxes are being paid for the current year, and current year taxes are not dischargeable in a BK.
