It's that time of year again...W-2's, 1099's and 1099-INT's are arriving daily in the mailboxes of consumers all over America.
There are many different ways to use your tax refund - pay bills, buy furniture or other large ticket items, sock it away to pay for a future expense...
What are your plans for YOUR refund?

Our tax refund is going to sit in the bank and get bigger!! (I hope)
That is so hard to do..I think we'll probably take a few hundred and get some things taken care of, but the lion's share needs to be saved.

My plans are to pay off my storefronts, credit cards, and pay my mom back some money that she had loaned to me.

I really don't know what we are going to do with ours. This is the first year it isn't going toward pdls and credit cards.

I'm going to catch up on utility bills and then start tackling medical bills. Also, my sons want to go out to Bob Evans for breakfast!

Those are all such great plans, everyone! Fins and Tammy, that has got to feel good, to be able to save the money or do whatever you want with it.
Mine is going to buy a new vehicle (mine is dying a slow painful death!), and pay off bills. A small amount will go to buying new clothing for myself and my sons, and stocking up on groceries.

We'll probably get some tires for my son, that's on disability, he sure doesn't receive enough to do anything, and my car needs 2 back tires. I'm just really gratefull we receive anything- for years we were paying the IRS!! Probabaly the rest will go into savings until we see what LVNV is going to do with us!!..KAren

My federal tax refund is going to pay off the remaining balance of the taxes I still owe from 2 years ago, which is not much. My state tax refund will just go right to my savings account and sit there.

Oh - let's see - first I am going to pay my attorney so that I can file bk; second the light company; third my daughter (who lent me money); then I am going to get the front end on my van fixed (maybe); and if there is anything left, I am going to treat myself to some new makeup!

Well, I'm going to live on mine since I'm unemployed right now. I will get unemployment checks but I also am planning on settling a credit card bill next month. I'm still waiting on my W-2's but they are supposed to be mailed tomorrow from my former employer. If not, I might have to trade my car in for something newer.

I haven't decided what I am going to do with my tax refund. I thought about putting it toward a new car but since I will be through with a few PDLs in the next couple of months, I was going to hold off on the new car and just put the money up. Maybe catch up on my offerings in church which is what I really want to do.
But honestly, it is like Izzy with her 8 million dollar check on Grey's Anatomy. Maybe I will put it on the refrigerator and wait for something to happen to see what I will do with it.

great idea, songmaven! Funny, I started this thread last year..and here we are a little over a year later, and part of my refund went (again) to a new vehicle! But, last year I was not in a position to have a monthly vehicle payment, so I bought a cheap "beater" vehicle just to drive back and forth to work, knowing it would probably only last me a year or so. Now we have a nicer, newer vehicle that will likely last us at least the next 3-5 years...but also have a monthly vehicle payment. But at least we can afford it now!
