I, like so many others on this site have gotten in way over my head in payday loans, but luckily I am fixing to pay the majority of them off. The one right now I am having problems with is JD MARKETING. The original loan was $300, and soo far I have paid them $690 with a payoff balance of $390. I have heard from others on this site about contacting the attorney general, but I don't know what to say to them and I also don't know what Texas laws are concerning this. ANY help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Here is the link on Texas payday loan law.

You have already paid more than the allowed interest of your state. You should now claim for a refund from the company with the help of your attorney general. Just write the actual story to your AG and request them to verify your account with JD Marketing.

When you contact the AG just do as Mute806 said - Tell your story. Tell them that this company is not licensed (as I assume they aren't) and that they are charging you an illegal amount of interest. And that they've rolled over the loan more then the allowed amount of times. Just be honest about the situation. You have the laws on your side, and have done nothing wrong.

Here is a link to the online complaint form for the state of Texas

https://www.oag.state.tx.us/forms/cpd/cpd_getcounty.php

I would call this number to ask about companies being licensed: 800-621-0508

That is the consumer protection hotline. Hopefully they will be able to answer your questions. Let us know if you need more help!!

After playing phone tag with the Attorney General's office, I finally talked to someone yesterday. He said to fax in my paperwork to him and they would take a look at it. I asked him how long it normally takes and he said it could take a couple of years!!! Any other ideas & has anyone on here have any experience with Texas Attorney General or getting your PDL's marked as paid in full.

I received a ACH debit on my account from them that i didn't authorize! the rep was soooo rude. i told her i didn't have the funds to repay the loan at the time because i was in a financial bind...she literally called my job 3times to speak to my supervisor. i asked to speak to her supervisor and she (Ms. Mann) said that she was the supervisor and was not allowed to talk to anyone over her. i asked could i speak to another supervisor and she stated oh sure i can put someone on the line who's much nastier than i am. i was furious, i called her a bitch! i told her she was harassing me by calling my place of employment numerous times back to back

Thanks for the info! I am glad that I went to this web site. I could not get intouch with this company. I called this another company because, JD used this company and, I thought that the other company was the lender. So, when I call them to tell them that I was going to just pay the finance charge they said to me you do not have a loan with us. So, looked on my bank account and, see JD as the lender I have not clue how this happen. Anyway, I went to my bank and did a stop payment so, that they can not have access to my account. I will pay them by money order only. I talk to the ach depart. and they will make sure they do not get that $260.00. YOU FOOL ME ONCE AND THAT IS IT FOR ME. I will pay this but, not with my bank account. If i did not go to this web site I would have not know about this. Thanks again!

I have a problem with this company (j. d. marketing) I live in Michigan, and have been told that i owe the $1800 for a past due payday loan that was origanally $500. They stated to me that they have turned me over to our local county fraud dept, for prosecution. How can i contact my attorney general to see if this is even leagel for them to do?
