PDL Help In Texas

I've been reading as much of these threads as I can, and I'm totally confused and feel completely helpless. I'm in Texas and have the following PDL outstanding ... all from internet lenders:

Eastside Lenders, original loan $500, have paid $1087.50 so far and apparently my balance is stil $200.

Cashnet, original loan was $400, have paid $770 so far, with a $350 balance according to them

Big Limited (that's the name of the company debiting my account) original loan $200, have paid $405.00 so far.

Magnum Cash advance is a little more confusing because of renewals, but this is the history:

1/26/07 Magnum 500.00
2/2/07 (232.29)
2/16/07 (232.29)

3/2/07 440.00
3/16/07 (283.27)
3/30/07 (283.27)
4/13/07 (283.27)
4/27/07 (283.29)

5/2/07 1,000.00
5/11/07 (388.72)
5/25/07 (388.72)
6/8/07 (388.72)

6/13/07 922.79
6/22/07 (497.17)

I'm so desperate for help, and I've seen so many like me so far. The amount of money I've paid in NSF charges the last several months just trying to keep my utilities on and pay my mortgage is staggaring as well.

Christyran--

You are not alone in the pdl cycle. Many of us here are currently in it now, or have been it in. The first you should do is close the bank account that the lenders have access to and open up a new one if possible and DO NOT give that new bank account # to any of the lenders. They will continue to debit the account they have access to, leaving you with outrageous NSF fees, so in order for you to gain control of your money again, please close that account.

Are you dealing with Cashnet500 or Cashnet USA?

Cashnet USA is the name on my bank statements.

Fortunately I've had an unused checking account already open with a check card & checks. My direct deposits will start going there on my very next check.

I'm seriously considering Langehorne to help get me out of this mess, I'm extremely concerned about phone calls to my place of employment.

Just don't give that info out to the lenders. I've never dealt with any of the lenders you are dealing with, except Cashnet USA, so I'm not sure if these places are known to call your employer.

I've seen the Texas pdl laws posted, but can't make a lot of sense on how I can figure out if I've paid too much according to Texas law.

I just looked at Cashnet USA's website and I noticed they are licensed to lend in TX, but I also found this:

Quote:
CashNetUSA will not be the lender for loans received at this site. CashNetUSA is a Credit Services Organization. We will attempt to arrange a loan between you and a third party lender and service that loan once it is issued

What does that mean? It's their name (CashNetUSA) that was on the deposit and that is actually taking the money out of my account.

I'm not exactly sure how they work, but when I was dealing with them, even though Cashnet USA approved my loan, it was funded from some place in Cincinnati, OH. Their website also says that any questions or complaints should be directed to your state's regulatory agency and here is their info:

Quote:
Texas
Office of the Attorney General Consumer Protection Division
PO Box 12548
Austin, TX 78711-2548
phone: (512) 463-2185
fax: (512) 473-8301

Give this office a call and see if they can help Smile

Christyran,
Don't get too discouraged. There are a lot of extremely supportive people on this site to help you. I have only been dealing with my PDL's for about two weeks now and I have cleared 4 of them on my own.(I had 9)
YOU CAN DO IT!
