I looked up the SOL in Texas and it said 4 years. Is this correct? I have 2 credit card debts Asset Acceptance is trying to collect from me. Last payment on the debts was in May 2000.
Should I send them a verification letter?

You can send them a debt validation letter.
You would be within your rights to send a complete cease and desist letter.

Thanks, I have a verification letter printed ready to go. They reaged an account from 1996 to 2005. I have filed a complaint with FTC. I'm hoping to get that one off my credit report because that is the only negative thing I have on my reports.

Don't let the CA stay in your report and tarnish your credit for invalid reasons. Send the dispute letter to their mailing address. If they don't verify, show copies to the CRA's and let them know about their failure to validate your account. They will investigate and update your copy.

File a complaint with the Texas Attorney General as well, and mention the re-ageing.

Just filed a complaint with the Texas Attorney General. Not sure if it will make a difference but I hope so. This is a great forum and would like to thank everyone for your support.

Under TX law, when you dispute the account, they must respond within 30 days either affirming the account or notifying you of any discrepancies. If they are reporting, they must also change the status to show the account is in dispute. In your case, the re-aging gives rise to a dispute on the account.

I sent a debt validation letter to AA and received a letter titled account statement. Info on statement gives account number, creditor, my name, address, partial ss number, and last transaction date.
On one of the three statements they did not list the last transaction date. Of course it would be the one they re-aged.
So questions:
-are these debts considered validated?
-What do I do about the re-aged account? (still on CR)
-What should I do about the other two? (not on CR, past SOL)
-They have stopped calling, but suddenly receiving blocked phone calls. (never picked up)
