DebtCC tutorials

I've seen a lot of posts, generally from newer members, asking for help with various board functions. Posting an avatar, uploading music... Basic stuff, mostly.

Some while ago, I said I was gonna do a tutorial on this kinda stuff when I got some free time. Well, I finally got some free time
Here's the first one. This one's on using the site's music features, because that's what I was doing when I decided to write it. It's written for a user with very limited computer knowledge, so I hope nobody thinks I'm talking down to them. There will be more of these if there's interest.

Comments welcome.[ Edited per Uncs instruction--The good one is further down!!..Karen

Thanks, wulf! Even I can understand that! And, that's saying a lot! LOL! Thanks for taking the time to do that for us who are not so "music download" literate! LOL! Laughing

OK, looks like there's some interest.

I figure I can crank one of these out every couple of weeks or so, given my current workload. That one took all afternoon to put together, but I did it on the spur of the moment, without a script or anything.

I wasn't real happy with the graphics quality in the original .pdf file, so I'm posting a better version. I also fixed some typos and such along the way. I guess I should have proofed the document more carefully before publication.....

Looks great! Although I thought the first one was pretty damn good! LOVE the red arrows and circles. Good for people like ME who need visual direction! Laughing

The graphics in the first edition were too blurry. I was trying to minimize file size to save bandwidth and make for a faster download, not cause eyestrain.

So.... Back to the source documents. I gave it a few other minor tweaks while I was at it, then re-encoded the whole thing. The difference in file size should only make about 4-5 seconds difference in download time, even on dial-up. But the graphics are worlds better, IMNSHO.

Now, if a mod was to happen along and delete the earlier edition...

I think bossy is on (maybe). She mod's the pub, so you could always pm her and ask her to remove the first one if you want her to.
