It is hard to go after a company. You think that it is useless but let me tell you..........it can pay off. I just got all my money back that I overpaid and my overdraft fees (9 of them). I got my bank involved and when I told them that the company was unlicensed and illegal, the bank went after them. Have you talked with your bank?
no luck with onestep, here is the email i just got....
We are legal in your state, so the only thing that i will do is settle the bal for 300.00. If you dont want to set up arrangements then i will have to charge the acct off..
Two of my pdl companies are telling me that the loan is legal in their state and that is where i took the loan out from regardless if it is legal in my state or not. Is this true? They sure sound convincing when u talk to them.
It goes by the laws of YOUR state, Not the PDL's state. Most of them are not even licensed in their own state. .
It is absolutely not true. It goes by the laws of your state .
They will tell you that until the cows come home.
Generally, they cannot pick and choose what laws and jurisdiction they want to go by. Example, do they really expect us to go by the laws of Malta and Ireland? Some pdl's do....
I told them that I checked with the FTC and the AG in my state and they are not legal, but I screwed up because I miscalculated and it turns out that I actually paid them 360 and not 270, so I dont owe them anything, I sent an email stating that since I was in error all I am asking for is a pif and not a refund, and I sent it 6 times, lets see what happens now!
