I have had three charges from the World Financial Network National Bank Credit Card ARC on my debit card and am getting really pissed off. I had never even hear of this company before I had found these fraudulant charges on my account. Is this how they help other people get out of debt? By fraudulantly charging others and hoping they won't notice?

Hi kbrenna

Welcome to the forums.

You are not required to pay on anything that seems to be fraudulent. Send them a letter of dispute so that verification is properly done.

Regards
Roxette

Just wanted to say thanks on getting the # for WFNNB. I have been trying to fix my credit with this for over 6 months. It does say it the # is for Goodies but they handle WFNNB accounts so they will help you if you explain why you are calling. Just get past the automated system. They were VERY nice and helpful to me. They gave me the inhouse collection phone # and told me who was handling it. Be patient with them and they will help you out.

Angela,

Please call WFNNB at 1-800-695-5316 / 1-800-224-3114

Also discuss it with your bank. Hopefully, they will help you in refunding back the amount.

Hi sgdh

Welcome to the forums.

Please write a letter to WFNNB and dispute the entries by highlighting each of them. They need to provide you the explanation of each of these entries in writing. If they are unable to provide you any report of the investigation done, they will have to contact the bureau and get the following items removed from your file.

You can also send a letter to the credit bureau with the same request. If you don't get a result of the investigation done within 30 days, the disputed entry has to be permanently deleted from your credit report.

Send all your correspondences through certified mail with return receipt requested. This will keep a record of all the dates on which you took the required actions. Hopefully, you should get positive results from this investigation.

Regards
Roxette

they left me a message saying if I didn't get back to them by Dec 13, they were going to take further action. Will that be charging my bank acct? They have the number from me making phone payments with them. Can they do that?

Hi Andrea

Welcome to the forums.

If you owe money to WFNNB, it is necessary to pay them as early as possible. Try to make an arrangement so that you don't have to go through the actions that they can be legally taken. Stick to the plan otherwise the arrangement will no longer exist.

If you find difficult to tackle this problem, you must take a professional help.

Regards
Roxette

In the process of buying a house, this old bill showed up on my credit report. I called the number I found on this web site and they told me, "they cannot take payment at this time." To which I replied, "you have dropped my credit score 58 points in the last month because of this and now you can't let me pay it?" The woman on the phone said, "that is correct it has not downloaded into our system and therefor we cannot take payment. It may be tomarrow, next week or next month before we are able to take your payment."

My question is - Is this legal? Can someone affect your credit score/report then tell you that they can't accept payment from you?

Ruzi, talk to the superior of the company. The bank will not accept payments from you only after the debt is sold to an outside collection agency. If they have your account with them, they should be able to accept payments from you anytime.

This woman on the phone does not sound professional and it's a waste of time talking to her. Ask for her superior and get more info about your account.

I filed bankruptcy over 3 years ago. Two of the accounts that were included were of WFNNB. Those accounts show that they are delinquent in the amount of $0!! Those accounts are what is stopping me from getting a loan for my house. I have tried contacting them over and over again but am given the run around. What am I to do??

Hi Jeanene

Call WFNNB at 1-800-695-5316 / 1-800-224-3114. Most of their phone lines remain busy, but I expect that you will get through this number.

You must also inform your bankruptcy lawyer about this situation. WFNNB has to remove that item from the credit report since it has no purpose to stay there. If you want, you can place the same item on dispute with the credit bureau also. They will get the item verified with the company.
