We received a letter from wilshire credit corporation Executive Response Team asking us to remove some forum posts.
Orignal Letter (Click Here)

Some of the forums posts mentioned are:
  1. Wilshire Credit Corporation fdcpa Violators
  2. Harassing a non-debtor.

Let's take it one by one
  1. Over here whystle blower (as a guest) has posted a lot of information about Wilshire Credit Corporation who according to the company is a former employee. Whystle blower says, "Many employees and ex-employees of Wilshire Credit Corporation are currently filing complaints and or taking legal action against them for discrimination against women and minorities, non-payment of overtime wages, sexual harassment and misconduct."

WCC claims it to be false. Also in his post he has given some important contact information ("The fax number is 503-952-7476 for the main office in Oregon or direct to the main office in New York is 212-670-4690. The toll free number to Oregon is 888-917-1050--some extensions are 7197, 7597, 7881,7733, 7661, 7701, 7560--or direct dial to 503-525-7257.") wcc claims it to be contact numbers of their employees.

  2. One of our member vladrek has posted a thread saying, "So far I've gathered that the people trying to collect are Sallie Mae, and the letters wcc kept coming up. Which someone has pointed out most likely stands for Wilshire Credit Corporation? The companies seem to be very much against open communication with anyone (debtor or not) and their websites don't help at all. The only contact info are fax numbers for clients to use." According to the Wilshire Credit Corporation the wcc stands for Western Credit Co-operation.

Wilshire Credit Corporation has asked us to remove all such postings and have asked to refrain from posting such messages in the future.

In order to satisfy their request I will have to do the following:
  1. Stop community from posting without a moderation, which will go against our theme of freedom. – Not possible because our community will never accept that.
  2. Verify each posting by employing 100 more people - Not possible because of cost involved.
  3. Stop forums – certainly not possible.

I feel forums are meant for public debates. Every false claim can be debated in an open world. Debtconsolidationcare hates to resolve matter behind doors, we request the world wide companies to debate over every claim made. WCC have the forum to put your case forward and let the community decide what is right and what is not. So sending letter asking for posting to be removed wont work for WCC.

We respect our community members but some information can be false as well. IMO neither we are responsible for any false statements nor are we accountable for any idea or view expressed in our public (open) forums. Our TOS says, "Our forum is an open platform thus messages posted in it are the sole opinion of the poster (author) and he/she is fully responsible for it. The comments are not endorsed by debtconsolidationcare.com . (point 4)".

Let the community know the views and let the community itself decide the truth. I have only one request,

"Debate it over, we can't live in a closed world"

Hmmm what does the site's counsel say... I would think that the Terms of Service are fairly protective

Why are all these people sending these? Could it be that they have been exposed? They don't want us to know their dirty little tricks? They dont want us to enforce our rights to have debts validated, etc? Make a person wonder.

This beggs a bigger issue however. Would DCC provide identifying information to say Acme Credit Corp. so thay could pursue other means on an individual basis?

No, DebtCC will never provide member's information to a third party without getting permission from the concerned individual. DebtCC will always give highest priority to the privacy of its community members.

Vikas
