Are you sure there was no notice? Foreclosure is a long and lengthy process and then for it to go up for auction with the sheriff's dept. takes awhile as well. You should have had a notice and then there is a period where you have a chance to stop the foreclosure. I know in my subdivision I have seen the foreclosure process take 4-6 months and then sometimes it takes more than a year for it to go up for auction through the sheriff's dept. Something doesn't sound right here.

You really should consult an attorney.

Something don't sound right here. With foreclosure, they give you notice. They don't just up and sell the house without your knowledge. When we were close to foreclosure, the mortgage lender sent us several letters. I do know that it can take up to 6 months for a complete foreclosure to happen.

That's what I was thinking Tammy. Something doesn't sound right. I watched plenty of houses in my subdivision get foreclosed on and I know it seemed like forever. You go to bed at night and you have a neighbor and you wake up and they've packed up and left. And then the house sits there for six months before it's tagged and another SEVERAL months before it is sold at auction.

The house I live in now was a previous foreclosed home and it took 8 months before it was actually foreclosed on. Something definitely doesn't sound right. Almost every mortgage company is willing to work out something (payment plans or whatever) to keep from having to go through the hassle of foreclosure.

Exactly, because they are going to lose money on a foreclosure at auction there are alot of programs out there to help prevent foreclosure.
