Also, many in MO have been able to get accounts with US BANK " in store locations" if Fraud is not reported. There are many other options as well on my site

TCF does not do a Chexsystems check, but be very very careful with your TCF account, as they will screw you every chance they get through fees and account posting policies.

Wamu used to not do them, not sure if they are now that they have grown, but it would be worth a try (I opened my Wamu account after my Chase account had fraud and went to Chexsystems reporting with no problem. PS, Chase sucks)

WAMU is the worse bank there is IMHO when you have been reported to chexsystems. If you open an account for you, they will more than likely close it at a later time. do NOT trust this bank. They run random sweeps on current in good standing accounts. They will freeze and close accounts when they run these checks.

TCF does use chexsystems but will allow you to open an account as long as you do NOT owe THEM any money from a past account. They also now currently use EWS. If you are reported to EWS, they will open the account and close it in about a week. Recently there have been several people that have opened accounts that about a week later were closed. Make sure you are not reported to EWS prior to applying for this account.

Chase does offer a second chance checking but you must apply at a branch. Not all states are offering this account so be sure to make sure before applying. There is a monthly fee for this account.

Thank youso much for the information you provided on your website. I had ruined my credit and banking privileges and was loosing money to check cashing and struggling with so many other things that require a checking account. Then I tried Fidelity and since I have a 401K plan through Fidelity, sign up was easy and I am on my way to getting my finances back on track. Kudos to you and also to Fidelity's customer Service. I called them to ask some questions and confirm my account, and they were absolutely nice and helpful.

Thank you again,

Sean

Early Warning Services
Early Warning Services is a limited liability company owned by Bank of America, BB&T Corporation, JPMorgan Chase, Wachovia, and Wells Fargo.

Early Warning Systems (previously Primary Payment Systems) is now being used by banks and credit unions the same as chexsystems. Along with other participating organizations, they now share information about potential customers that may be a risk.

Several organizations have partnered with Early Warning Services to help increase awareness and make the following services more accessible to credit unions. Here is a list of partners they are in collaboration with currently. As you can see this includes many, many credit unions that were once chex-friendly. CO-OP Financial Services who is listed as a partner with EWS also signed a multi-year contract with eFunds Corp(chexsystems) April 2007. Because of this many that are reported to chexsystems will also be reported to EWS.

Those wishing to obtain consumer report information should contact their Consumer Call Center at 800-325-7775. From what I have been told it is much easier to get a copy of your report with EWS than it is with Chexsystems. Apparently they will email you a form that you can mail or fax back to them. From what I have been able to tell, if you are reported to chexsystems then chances are good that you are reported to EWS. This seems especially true of those that have a Chexsystems report that has fraud indicated on it.

I am going to double check but I am pretty sure that Trustmark still uses chexsystems. Other than Regions .. the only other bank there that I can think of locally that would for sure help you is WoodForest

Address:
3615 Sangani Blvd
DIberville, MS 39540

2nd Chance account is $7.95 if you have direct deposit
$9.95 if you do not.

$25.00 one time debit card processing fee

However, in 6 months or less, the branch determines if you can move to a regular account or open a savings in addition to the second chance account, regular accounts, you can open immediately!

(complimentary overdraft) requiring no credit will kick in after 30 days. It is $500 for direct deposit or $300 without it.

ALSO! Phone and Online banking are immediate overnight and they're open 7 days! They are VERY friendly and nice to those reported to chexsystems
