Hi CASHTODAY CUSTOMERS,

It will be of great use to read the below lengthy paragraphs if u have taken a loan from cash today or planning to take one.
I am typing this from london, uk. i used to work for this company called Cashtoday ltd. Thank god, now i am working in a different company. The working condition in collections department is pathetic and all the employees who work here are either students or illegal immigrants and the company doesnt pay taxes or anything of such sort.
In the united kingdom this company is registered as heathmill.com.

Cashtoday ltd aims at collecting USD358 from each and every customer. So, for all the people whose outstanding is above $358 dont panic just tell them that u will only pay $358 to get the account closed(Also mind how much have u paid already).Keep on negotiating for an even lesser amount if u intend to close the loan.

Let me explain u what precautions are to be taken in order to avoid future harassments and to evade the this payment.
1)once u take this loan its better to change the bank account as the companys software is designed to hit the bank account on the next payday.
2)if u have filed for bankruptcy, just fax the papers to 18006909925.
3)In order to get the calls stopped at work place, tell that this person(customer) is no longer working in this company and owe money to many companies and other stuff. We can even block calling up a particular number but most of the guys dont do that unless it is told by a manger. so talk to manger and get the number blocked.(DAN CRADDOK or for Manager-- Darren)

4)when u default a payment, collection agents call up at all the numbers which are in our records. when they call, u ask for Director --DAN CRADDOK or for Manager-- Darren and tell them not to call at ur work place. They r the key persons of the company. Harass them.
Also keep calling the collections number--18006704075 and as this is a toll free number this costs a lot more than making outbound calls for the company.

HOW TO ENSURE THAT U GET THE LOAN:(this is useful if u r a first time payday loan taker with cashtoday)
The sales agents who works here make GBP 4.00 per sale. Once the sale is done verification dept verifies if the customer is employed full time and check if the work tel ph number is a land line number
and then they release the $200.
This work number must be a landline phone number else the sale will get rejected.
---so to ensure that u get the money u can give ur home number and someone should tell that u r working full time at the moment and that is the work place.

Let me inform u few key reasons why the sale gets rejected.
1)if the work ph is not a landline number(inorder to play safe u can give ur home land line number and tell that the person is working there)
2)if the net income is less than USD220 per week.(its better to tell that u get atleast usd 500 irrespective of payfrequency)
3)if u dont get paid by direct deposit
4)if u r working at ur work place for less than 3 months.

Dealing with COLLECTION agents(useful for people who already defaulted pymt)
1)firstly the loan itself is an illegal loan and u must expect the agents to be beast. they are being fired if they dont collect the money. so they r behaving like that with customers, it not actually for bonuses, but rather for survival.
2) if u dont have the money tell them that ur bank account is frozen and u will be able to pay only thru money order. ( if u choose money order option collection agents will not call u until 10days after the MO due date.
3)Always talk to DAN CRADDOK(director)or Darren(manager) or Binu Fernandez(manager) or stuart(training manager) or to any team leader.

I have typed a lot for now...
I HAVE A PLEA...THE ABOVE INFO MIGHT NOT HELP U BUT IT CAN HELP A PERSON WHOM U DONT KNOW. SO,PLEASE PASS THIS INFORMATION TO ALL THE AMERICANS.
Currently there are more than 50000 customer for cash today ltd.
America is a very rich nation, but after working in this company i feel pity on all the people who take a loan for $200.

If you have any queries, let me know
i will definitely help u out.

Guest, are these charges mentioned in the loan agreement? If so, you don't have any other options but to pay it and ultimately improve your credit file.

But, if the company has not served you any written documents of this loan and have tucked this finance charge all of a sudden, you need to consult your lawyer.

A legitimate company will always put the agreement in writing before extending credit to the consumer. Be cautious from this payday loan company as they have not given you any papers based on which you can defend yourself. They have kept everything under covers so that it becomes impossible to trace them. I will suggest you to file a police complaint and send the affidavit to the AG's office. You will also get some help by consulting your lawyer.

I'm sorry if what i said offended you, but i stand by it.

Why is it OK for people to post on here against companies, but when someone places the responsibility back on them - they take offence?

If it 'not yor business or any one else' - why post it?

Seems to me you are desperate to find someone else to blame.

Accepting you have a debt problem is the first step to resolving it. There are plenty of offline, qualified experts you can consult for help.

To whom it may concern, cancel my cash today loan immediately (Jan. 22, 2006). I have tried to reach you in GB and have had no luck. I have more than paid back the $200. loan with interest. I have had my back block all future inquiries from you and have notified security as well.

The most recent three payments deducted from my account have been returned to you unpaid.

Cancel it now.

I want nothing else to do with your company.

I stopped working in October and not sure what is going on since but I tell u this....anyone who has taken a loan with them should pray to GOD that all will be well, close your bank acc and opena new one.

If u take a loan, even when u pay it off all ure details remain on the system. Anyone has access to it. To work there requires no ID whatsoever... I saw some of the dodgiest people working there.... think of it... all those ssn's, bank acc numbers plus other details. I'm surprised people are complaining about only the cost of the loan. The safety of your info is what you should be complaining about.

Attanetta, it will be a great help to many people if you can suggest some better ways on how to deal with Cash Today. Most of the times, the disputes placed with the company remain unresolved and money is taken out from the checking account of the consumer. Your suggestions can help people in getting the right prospective.

I had a loan with them. I made an agreement with the collections agent (who, incidentally, spoke such broken English that I had to ask him to repeat himself many times) to repay an amoutn of $350. This was after he tried to tell me I owed over $1000. I told him that I know how payday loans work and if I am in default I need to pay the balance owed. He also told me that no payments were ever made on the loan, which I know to be crap but I'm not too adept at keeping records, so I have no proof. This morning, I checked my bank account. They took out $600! These guys are scam artists and I'm about to take legal action to bring them down, or they will return the funds to my bank.

Mandy, I have heard that Cash Today Limited has changed their business name to Interim Cash. They are now using this new name because most of the people have recognized this scam artist. Close your checking account and stop the company from making any more debits. Explain the situation to your bank. They might be aware of this company and may help you in filing a dispute with the company. Cash Today has to verify each of the debits made in your account. If they fail to give the required information, money must be sent back to your account. Involve your attorney if needed.

Next time before making any agreement, get everything in writing. Your proof of the past payments would have made this case easier. Prefer to have written correspondences and get receipts of all the payments made. You will be able to prove the facts whenever required.

Close your account. Your bank will help with this. My bank blocked my account and opened another. Yes, it was inconvenient but it paid off in the long run.

I read this artical and I am in SHOCK. I cannot believe how this company has treated me. One time they call telling me that I owe them STILL $400, then another call I ower over $5000, then it keeps dropping down to $400 again! They have harrassed me at work over 100 times. Threatening me. Telling me that they will find me, and call my boss/employer and have a me fired. Well if they do that, then I can't pay my bills, can I! They insist that I still owe them money. This account is from 2005, I think. My bank had closed out my account, because this company kept taking money that I didn't have from it, causing a HUGE negative balance, that to date I am still trying to pay back. I can't even open up another checking account, until this is all cleared up. I have stressed so much about this, and I DO NOT and CANNOT afford to loose my job. I am a single mom, trying desperately to make a good life for my kids, and this is what I get. Unfortunately I was a fool to trust this company, and look what it has brought to me. I have several complaints with the Better Business Bureau, locally and nationally, the Attorney General's office in my state, and complaints have also been filed in Nevada and the UK, where supposedly this company is at!!! Even today I received another call. They stated that they spoke to my lawyer. I don't even have one as of yet. I am going to file for bankruptcy, so now what do I do... I am totally lost!!!

Welcome to the community Desperate Mom.
I'm sorry to hear about your misfortunes, however I do have some good news for you. After the first time you tell them you can't receive their calls at work they are supposed to (legally) stop calling you at work. I would suggest you send them a debt validation letter to make them show you everything on this account so you know exactly where you stand, it will force them to give you a breakdown of everything.

You can find a good template via my signature link (be sure to send the enclosure with it) send it certified mail, return receipt requested. That way you will have proof that you sent it and when they receive it. Until they provide validation they may not continue collection activity per the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. If they try to tell you they are not bound by the fdcpa they are wrong, as a PDL lender they actually acquire the funds through a bank which they finance their loans through and they are collecting 3rd party as you actually owe the bank.

In addition per FDCPA they are not allowed to contact others about your debt, merely threatening to do so (including their threat to get you fired) is unlawful. In lieu of these events I would suggest filing complaints with the Federal Trade Commission and your state Attorney General's office for their blatant disregard for federal law.

Excellent advice from JCEMT and I can add only one thing to it, which is what actually worked for me when I was dealing with these people: file a police report with your local police dept for unlawful activity and be sure and tell them the next time they call you. As soon as I told them I had done that, my file was marked closed....

I unfortunately had dealings with them as well. I actually called them to pay off my loan in full on the day it was due, as I also found out that same day that I was being laid-off. They would not speak to me, just kept transferring me and then I was hung up on.

So, since the loan wasn't paid in full on the due date, they helped themselves to my bank account again two weeks later. I sent a letter advising that I was revoking any further ACH debits to my account, and after computing up what I had paid them in total since taking out the loan, they had been paid three times over.

I asked my bank to block this debit, but they told me they don't do that, it has to be processed like a stop-payment on a check, and I was charged $35 for the pleasure. Surprise, surprise, I discovered that not only did I pay the bank $35 to process this "stop-payment", Cash Today had also taken out another payment from my account.

I was livid and marched into the bank to yell at them. They gave me the runaround, and in the end, I had to file an affidavit of fraud to get my money back.

I never heard from Cash Today again, and my bank account was never accessed by them again either.
