FFG & amp; Associates - Are consumers grieving against the CA?

I have paid off a pay day loan from Check N Go. I paid off thru Frontier Financial Group (FFG). I just received a phone call today at my work from Allied Collections saying that I owe over $500 AND Check N Go still has it on their record that I owe them. I have documentation that it has been paid in full and I owe nothing. When will it stop??? They keep calling my house, my cell phone. I just want this all to go away.

You need to request proof of the debt in writing. This is get-out-of-debt 101. It is standard procedure. Send them all a letter saying you dispute the debt , and they need to send you proof of said debt. Many times this alone will stop their activity. Next you need to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and then with the State Attorney General's office. Unfortunately, these people keep coming around, thinking they can cash in on debts already paid. They use scare tactics to make you think you still owe money when you don't. Don't ever talk with them on the phone because they record what you say and will use it against you.

to the one with the we owe you reply - if they do not pay as they say they owe you then sue them the way they threaten all of us with these fake debts

the fact they say they owe you - i use as agreement that they do actually owe you money - so collect the hell out of it

They will never voluntarily give money back to you. The only way I ever got any money back was through legal action by the California Dept. of Corporations. They sued the PLC and I got my overpayment back. It also helped that I testified and brought copies of my bank statements to the court room. Don't be afraid to pursue these jerks through legal channels. They ARE there to help you combat these people.

I giot a call this morning. But it was an automated call. Stating that they had business that may or may not concern me. Stated i should call for more info. These guys are not very bright.

Mail or fax them a letter saying they need to contact you in writing only, and that no phone calls are allowed. They need to provide written proof of the supposed debt. I would also file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, who gives FFG an 'F' rating.

I got the same call it is from a frontier Financial Group. They state this to get you to call back then they wont leave you alone. Have you had any pay day loans because more then likely this is what they are collecting on. They are rude and mean so be prepared. They will also threaten to take the matter to your county court.

In other words, they don't follow the debt collection laws. Ten years ago I signed on with one of those debt consolidation companies that advertised on television. They took all my money and did not pay my creditors. I ended up settling with all my creditors and those debts were written or paid off. However, some of them still turn up on "lists" as unpaid and companies like FFG try to collect on them. If you have paid off the debt they think they can collect on, make sure you file with the BBB and your state's consumer office.

Note: the company that took my money, Debticated.com, was taken to court via a class action suit. I was a part of the suit, but the court has not been able to collect the monies due the class members. I only received $25 from them after paying out hundreds of dollars. The court will continue to try to collect the money, but I doubt I will ever see it.
