Has anyone heard of this company? I don't have the number here at work and for some reason could not sign on to this website at home. They leave me message, important business matter?

Please let me know. Thanks!

Can you think of some kind of an outstanding debt that could have been placed for collection?

I would give them a call and see what this is about. Get as much information from them as you can...who the original creditor was, how much, etc. Then I think it's important to get that information in writing by sending them a debt validation letter. Don't give them any of your personal information (like checking account, etc.) or set up a payment arrangment until you know the facts!

I have heard of "Lutheran Social Services", a non-profit organization. Just never heard of the name you're describing before.

I Google'd the number and from what I'm reading it does look like it is a CA.

I would call them back and see what it is they want. Don't forget to ask them where your written notification is. The one they are required by law to send out within 5 days of the initial contact.

OK, that's weird. They leave you no number? The just expect you to get their number from the caller ID? What if you didn't have CID?

They must not be aware that not all people in the US do have caller ID. I have relatives that live in the backwoods of Mississippi that only recently got indoor plumbing (Outhouse! Yuck!), much less CID.

For most hospitals in the industry there just sisnt enough time to help everyone get their aged accounts or denied insurance claims worked. If you can believe it, most hospitals are just fine with writting off millions of dollars and use the excuse..."well everyone else is doing it." But there is a way to get that money back, all they need to do is hire an outside source to work their aged accounts and denials on a contingency fee basis. Go to www.medappeal.com. This can recover lots of money for hospitals and patients. The company is ASi and they are excelent at what they do. They helped me and my hospital. They can help you too!
