Mann Bracken: Is it difficult to deal with them?

I am trying very hard to pay off all my credit card debts. I - being a total idiot went to a debt settlement company. They "suggested" that I not pay my bills, and that they had great relationship with creditors.... What a lie.

Anyway, I am now in a dmp. I'm trying to pay off all my loans 100%. However, Mann Bracken Llc. wants a lump sum payment. I do not have the funds to give them the payment. I offered to pay it off through the DMP program. No deal. They said they would continue with the arbitration and see me there.

Is there anything I can do? I tried calling Chase directly. They said I could only talk to Mann Bracken law firm is a collection agency which threatens to take you to arbitration. Read the discussion to know the way out. that they no longer had the account.

The lady on the phone was very nasty. She told me if it went to arbitration I could pay her attorney fees and court cost. All of this is true information. So not misrepresentation.

I think I may be stuck. But I have a budget, and I am trying to pay everyone. That leaves me very little wiggle room when it comes to something like this.

Suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

NewMMC

That's because it's Mann Bracken LLP. And they are trying to sue me. They filed legal papers and everything.

I have been fighting W&A/MB for almost 3 years. I did not default, however a claim was filed in the now DEFUNCT NAF. You all know who was granted the inflated award. LISA M. MICHAELS is the collection-lier on my case. MB has filed false affidavits among other things and violated over 2 dozen consumer statutes but that does not bother them. They have, will and do lie to win their cases. NO SURPRISE. They are still trying to collect on a fradulent claim. Now that there doors have closed makes no diff...they are still trying. I have been told my case has valid claims but would cost more than the alleged debt. I hate loosing on their lies. I would like to add my name to a class action against them, are there any??? thanks for the wealth of wisdom available to common folks like me.

I have been paying $25.00 a monthg first to Eskanos & Adler then it changed to Mann Bracken in 2008 I think anyways for a while I was receiving a payment receipt but this month I didn't get one, I know that the address on the envelope they sent me was different than the address on the payment receipt. I wasn't sure where to mail my payment so I tried calling the # on the payment receipt & both the direct # & the 800# are temporaraly disconnected so now I don't know what I should do, especially after reading these comments. I do have a judgement against me on this account. What happenes if I don't sens this payment because I can't get ahold of them. I live in California. Thanks for any help you can give me.

I set up a payment plan with Mann Bracken, LLP in Nashville, TN in July 09 after receiving a court summons. I had set up an automatic withdrawl from my account for these payments and had no problems. When it came time for my December 09 payment the automatic withdrawl was never made as well as the January 10 payment. When I tried calling the two numbers I have for Mann Bracken it says they are temporarily disconnected. What now?

I was summoned to court by Mann Bracken and had a judgement placed against me. I have made payment arrangements with them in order to have the judgement "stayed" However we only set up payments through December and when I tried to contact them their number has been disconnected. Any advice?

Mann Bracken filed bankruptcy back in November, 2009. Last I heard, they were being bought up by NCO Group, another bottom-feeder. The article I just read said that the sale was expected to close early this year.

This might be a good time to request validation, or have the CRAs investigate any MB tradelines you might have. With luck, they'll be busy elsewhere for a while...

I settled with Mann Bracken at the end of November 2009. Now I just received another letter from another collection agency stating that I owe $950.00. The problem is that I don't have the letter stating that I payed of this account, but I do have the checks sent in. I can't get in touch with these pricks to get some sort of statement sent to this other company because all of their previous phone lines have been disconnected. What do I do! I don't want to send in more money since I already settled and who is to say that these guys are legit as well.

I settled with Mann Bracken last year, with the help of a consumer advocacy attorney. I have been paying them faithfully since we settled. A few days ago I received a letter from a different law firm stating that there was a judgment against me that I have not honored and they are going to sue me if I don't contact them or pay. The amount they have listed is not the original debt amount nor the settled amount. Strange. I called my attorney and he is looking into it. This whole industry is a joke.

I dealt with them and actually won the suit with a attorney with them in a court room .
They then started reporting the debt as late and charged off . The case was to be settled as agreed .
I am now in the process of suing Mann Bracken for a large sum of money for reporting wrong .
Hire a attorney and take them to court --MANN BRACKEN is a money making machine dont fool yourself .They are located in Atlanta Ga . Its a boiler room . MAKE SURE YOU ANSWER THE THERE LETTERS ! ask them for all the statements that you owe upp front the contract make them work there butts off

Good News!! According to a copy of a newspaper article in the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, Mann Bracken has collapsed nationwide !! Date of article is March 21,2010. There's no doubt that the collection industry needs to be regulated big time !!

Mann Bracken for NCO Portfolio took me to court without my knowledge in 2005 and a judgement was issued against me for $994. The original debt was a Cross Country Bank CC for $250 in which I applied for one month before my 18th birthday in 2000. I admit I was irresponsible by applying for it so young and then giving the card to my first real boyfriend. I only made 1 payment of $70 while I still had the card and thought the rest of the card was paid off by him as promised (idiot move). I had no clue about the rest of any of this happened until I recently pulled my credit report in order to consolidate my student loans and know what I was dealing with exactly. I never applied for anything else since 2000 not even when I purchased my car. Now I got a correspondence in the mail from NCO, they are trying to collect on that same Credit Card in the amount of $1,183.50. If they (Mann Bracken/NCO Portfolio) already submitted the debt to go to court via Man Bracken can they collect twice and if I settle with them for this amount they are offering???.who will take this judgement off of my credit ASAP.
