Ok, National Action Financial Services have made the first initial call today around 8:30 this morning. I have no idea who they're calling about (me or my wife) since the phones in her name. I refuse to talk to this guys from National Action Financial Services at all. I've chased off allied interstate, Merchants and now these goons. I do not have an account number for an alleged debt that they say one of owes. I need to send a C&D letter but no account number. Can I just send this with out the account and use the phone # they called us at. I've seen numerous posts and these are the lowest scumbags. The automated message just said that "You must call 866-529-1899 as it is VERY important to someone named "Gotto or Gotty" Da ha funny. Can someone please advise. Thank you.

please, to the humanoid at nafs.you have all those things because you broke the law as everyone at nafs does.so nice not to have any morals huh?i don't pay cretins who make fools of themselves.whether it is on the phone,or this forum.your blither won't make this forum go away.in fact we get stronger knowing we get to you people.your post proves that wonderfully.

This guy Ron keeps calling here looking for someone who hasn't live here for over two years. I have told them three times to stop calling. They have the person's home phone number but insist on calling me. Not only are they harrassing me, they are extremely rude. They also leave me messages that they are a debt collection agency and are looking for this person and provide details regarding the unpaid debt. Isn't this a privacy issue since I have already notified them that they have the wrong person?

They've been calling me and leaving messages the last couple of weeks. I finally called back and told the girl that even if I did incur the debt, which I pointedly did not acknowledge, that the bill (something like $200 from the late 90s, and I'm not so sure that I hadn't actually paid it) was uncollectible because the SOL had expired.

She transferred me to a "bad cop" type guy who tried to trick me into acknowleding I owed the debt by asking about the original creditor. I told him to do his own homework and that's when he got nasty. He tried telling me there is no SOL as this is not a criminal matter. I told him there is and not to pretend he didn't know otherwise.

Finally, he huffed "I'll just document as a refusal to pay. Is that what you want me to do?" Then he hung up on me.

Actually, I had some fun talking to these morons.

This is very helpful information. I just got through a situation with the ASSET MANAGEMENT GROUP. -who are scammers as well. I received two vmails on my unlisted cell to call a Mr. Braun-but the woman didn't say my name.
I will not be calling these people. I'll check my credit report and dismiss these calls as scam calls. My phone isn't even in my name, it's part of a family plan.

I don't know how old your post is but wasn't there a class action law suit filed against Block Buster? Or didn't they just lose a Class action law suite about 5 years or so ago?
And they're now afiliating themselves w/these snakes? Hmm, guess tehy didn't learn their lessons

I was contacted by this company at 8:16am , I don't start work normaly until 8:30am. I came in early this morning and let the call go to voice mail since it was not a business listed in my directory. After listening to the womans sloppy - half - a$$ed message while sucking on a jolly rancher, I became worried sick to my stomach. I called the number and spoke to a man named Mr. Miller. I had to give him my social to pull up my information since the woman who left a message didn't have the common courtesy to leave her name or an account number for me to reference. He made me aware of a VERY old cc bill I owed that had somehow made its way to collection. I advised him I need a written form of the bill and the original debt. I also told him that is was in our conversation currently they ARE NOT TO CONTACT ME BY MY WORK phone. I gave him my cell number and requested not to be called during my business hours which are from 8:30am-5:00pm. All of which he was more than happy to acknowledge. I updated my mailing address so they could complete my request as well.
All of this correspondence in VAIN!
Not but 5 minutes after I hung up with Mr. Miller; the woman whom called orginally (April) called 2 times back to back. She left no voicemail the first call and a very rude message the second call. She stated I had no option at this time to request a letter or any more time...blah blah..
I was flamming F****ing mad at this juncture! I called Mr. Miller's number which I had obtain in my first call back to the company. I started to tell him I had just recieved 2 calls after I had just spoke to him and specifically requested that I NOT be contact during these hours! He put me on hold and swiftly transfered me to April. She immediately starting talking over the top of me when I told her she was not supposed to be contacting me per my specific request... She kept saying 'your request doesn't matter' over and over each time I was trying to tell her that I had just update my contact information and time... she still shouted right over the top of me 'your request doesn't matter'..
I ended up hanging up on her naturally.
I was more than willing to work out some sort of payment arrangment upon the reciept of my requested information regarding the original bill... BUT NOW... they can go to hell!
I faxed them a formal request for a copy of the original debt and all contents leading up to there handling of the matter.
(I used a form I printed from the web site... thank you so much!)
I am also mailing a certified copy, and keeping a copy for myself.
I am also reporting them to the FTC and FCC.
They are garbage and horrid, pittiful excuses for human scum.

OMG! These people are driving me nuts! They keep calling for someone I never heard of. I finally used the 866 number listed here and finally got a live person on the phone. I explained and they hung up. So I called again. She took the number from me and then hung up. So I called AGAIN and was told there was no such number in their system and she hung up AGAIN!

So...use this number 1-866-529-1899 to get a live person on the phone but be prepared for rudeness. Tell them to put you on their "Do Not Call" list whether or not you owe them money. They don't deserve to collect due to their obnoxious behavior.

why is it that no one understands debt?, i am 21 yrs old and have been doing collections for 2 yrs, never ever have i went sour on a bill that i caused, my mother taught me to get my priorities together and pay my bills. i do understand that collectors can be rude and take things to the extreme at times, but im so sick of debtors playing the victims! i do not believe it is right to take a 5k credit card out, buy urself whatever your heart desires and not pay it back, do u not see ur hurting ur credit along with others who will pay their loans back. that is why interest rates are so high!! HELLO!!! and can we get it together and stop blameing bad debts on the recession, i call debtors cell phones, turn ur service off until your not in debt!! or when u pull a credit report and people have 3 different car registrations and other open lines of credit! if you put effort, make a payment or set up a settlement its only going to help yourself!

Not everyone has been lucky enough to obtain or keep a steady job. The recession is, what it is.
