I have Oxford Management Services calling me several times a day... I have already told them 2x to not call me anymore but they DO NOT STOP.

What can I do?

Send Oxford Management Services, a cease communication letter certified mail return receipt requested. Once you get the signature card back log every call they make and take them to court for fdcpa violations.

You can also send a debt collector a facsimile stating to cease communications. Be sure to keep the fax confirmation sheet. That sheet will tell you that they received the facsimile and it becomes a legal document. We've done it several times and the calls and letters have ceased.

I talked to 3 Oxford people today. One offered to reduce my sons debt from 600 to 150. I gave them my banking info and 2nd person said we'll take your 150 and deduct the rest from your account! I called to talk to the managers supervisor and he was worse! I said this is not what I negotiated and said THEY are not authorzed to take any funds from my account now or ever. Since I've read over and over about their horredous acts. I 'm in contact with my bank and we both monitor my account 3 times a day. I feel I have breached the security of my checking account by giving there people account info after which they renege on our original settlement. Tomorrow I set up an entire new checking account. I also have to contact social security and my mortgage company since this is the account payments automatically go into and out of. OXFORD MANAGEMENT IS A HUGE NIGHTMARE! Don't try to deal with them directly. You'll need a lawyer or go to Lutheran Social Services to help. President Peter Pinto and wife Vanessa that live at 135 Malloy Drive In East Quogue, NY 11942-3838 are impossible to track. He graduated from Hofstra University and they should be dissappointed of their alumae. Carlos Novelli is CEO. Patrick Pinto is Vp and well as Chuck Harris. I'm interested in this company to honestly settle or class action suit with other complaints.

Report them, they have already been brought up by the FTC for their illegal practices. Reason I posted Peter Pinto address is that they are currently selling their house - not good for the sale to have it associated with these bad company.

WASHINGTON, July 2, 2009 -- The Federal Trade Commission issued the following press release:

The operators of a debt collection company that used false threats and other unlawful tactics to collect consumers' debts have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they violated federal law. The settlements bar future violations and require the defendants to pay $225,000.

According to the FTC complaint, the defendants, who had about three million consumer accounts and collected debts in every state, falsely threatened that nonpayment of debt would result in garnishment of consumers' wages, arrest, or legal action.

Wish I would have read this earlier. I have encouter the same problem. I misplaced the name of the person whom contacted me. I thought I was paying off a debt only to learn that that all was a lie. I asked for my pay off letter. They answered back by saying everything I was told was a lie. I agree with the class action suit with other complaints. How can we stop this.

I am going thru a lot of problems with these people calling me 6 to 7 different times in one day. They are now saying that if i dont come up with a lump some of money that it will be turned over to the legal system and i will have to go to court over my 20,000 student loan. These people are so rude and just dont seem to want to work with me. I dont know what else to do at this point ....

YES...they absolutly do. They bought debt from NCO Financial who harrassed me for a $190 lab bill that I did not owe and that was written off on my credit report 4 years ago. Now this company if calling me and being very ugly. Today, they get the ncease order faxed to them...the same one that NCO got about 4 months ago.

Tell them to take a flying leap of a high bridge and DO NOT try to deal them!!! Send them the cease order and contact your student loan lender directly.

Will the cease order also work if they are continually calling asking you for information on a neighbor? Asking them to stop doesn't seem to have any effect. Today again I got a message calling me by my first name....giving me my neighbors full name and street address..and telling me in a panic that my neighbor is "having an issue" and how concerned Mrs. Nelson at Oxford Management is that she can't seem to get in contact with her. Can I please please please get to Mrs. X and have her call this number"

I've been getting calls from a so-called collection agency for a lab bill totalling $40.00 I ask them to send the bill b/c I thought I paid it they refused. So I told him if I can't get a bill then I'm not paying now I'm getting calls for Oxford Management. Where can you get the cease letter?

I used to work at Oxford management Services. The company is neither a scam or in any way do anything illegally. They follow all guidelines and procedures. They are one of the best collection agencies to deal with. Highly trained and professional. Maybe you should look at yourselves and your problems before pointing your fingers at a good respectful company.

Oxford Management is looking for Patricia Murphy, her correct # is (386)760-8360 Also ER Collections is looking for Richard Harris, his correct # is (386)597-7364. Maybe now these stupid collectors will stop calling a number that has nothing to do with either of these people

I reported the compant at the FTC 1-877-382-4357 and hope they get charge and pay more than the 225,000 they have in prior lawsuits.. As from what read here harring folks pays well..

They show up on our CID several times a day. Yesterday I answered and they asked for my EX-husbands current wife! They live 1200 miles away from me. Crazy people kept asking if I knew her and how to contact her. They better not call again.

the problem with collection agencies is they use very dirty tactics like calling everyone you know and work with or for. If we have debts going to collection agencies its for the reason we can not pay the bill all at once or the monthly payment is way to high as some of us live on unemployment or ssi. Some who have jobs have other monthly bills to pay and end up going to people who we do not know for help. Some of the people we do know forget they were once friends with that person and still turn them down. Saying why you contacted me and what you contacted me for.

Be careful who you make friends with and who you deal with online cause they might be law enforcement. now they have a law in the state of florida that says if you threaten someone online you can go to jail.

There are two sides to every story. Collections is a hard job because you are calling people who are avoiding their responsibilities. If you paid the original creditor who contacted you with customer service in their voice you wouldn't have to deal with debt collectors. How many of you n here complaining have stop dealing with a friend or family member over money (or valuable possessions) not being returned as agreed in advance? Be honest. And the automated system is just that...automated. The attendant who RECEIVES your inbound call has no info in front of them on you. The best thin is to be polite to the perosn as you want them to be to you. ALWAYS treat people how you want to be treated and I garauntee you will have better sucsecc in your interactions with others. Understand that debts in a collection agency are due in full. No negotiations are owed to you. Just because you do what you want with your income and not what you promised to do (ie, pay you debts) doesnt mean collectors have to bow down to what ever payment arrangement you want to negotiate. Creditors tell collectors how they can negotiate. Stop taking it personal when the collector tries to assist you in getting on a payment plan that you cant (or won't afford). Especially a $20k student loan. U borrowed the money to be able to pay to back with interest. Lets stop shifting the blame here people. Pay your bills and your name will never be in a collection agency. Something to think about.

My boyfriend and I keep receiving these calls but we don't answer numbers we don't recognize. I decided to answer it this evening because its after 8pm. I got a very rude lady. When I told her to stop calling my house, she replied "didn't you hear what I said ma'am?" I very rudely replied "yes I did hear what you said ma'am and I said STOP CALLING MY HOUSE" and I hung up. These people are ridiculous!!

Got a call at work today. First one ever. Said she was "Shaunda" from Oxford Management in Florida. Told me I have a debt that is owed. I told her I haven't even seen a collection letter. She stated there have been 2 sent out....(complete lie. I check my mail every day and note all my bills!). When I asked her to send me the correct amount of what is owed, she said the company will not allow her to do that and that I have 24 hours to call her back to make arrangements on how I'm going to pay the debt back. She wanted my cell # (which I reluctantly gave just so she wouldn't call my work again) and then asked for a second #. I told her I wasn't going to give her a 2nd number and to not call my work again. She said "okay", but by looking at all these replies, I can tell already that I'm going to have to get a Cease Communications letter out to them via Certified/Return Receipt mail. When I asked what would happen if I didn't get back to her within 24 hours, she stated the file would be turned back over to the consumer and marked as "non-compliant/refused".....I think I'll take my chances and get it paid straight to the consumer rather than deal with these people....first off, I need to get a statment of what is owed!

This company calls asking for individual who I am not nor do I know. I have told them....... and they hang up.. calling again and again for same person.

Why should I have to send them registered letter telling them I am not person they want stop calling me?

Also when do hit the choice to tell them they start asking me for information.. If you call me you need to know who ya calling and have all the information.. Remember it ya calling me not me ya and I have tried to tell ya I don't want you to call me and am not nor know who this person is.. Heck most time when ya ask all ya get right is the first name Amanda... Each time ya call ya pronunce the last name different and have even asked me how to spell it.. if they are legit why can't they spell the last name and even pronounce it they did business with them.. NOT ME.....

And to the one said ya will win any suit.... 225000 says ya can lose... and hope it lot more and more of ya get laid off.....

Okay, this stupid company kept harrassing me years ago for a $150 medical bill my daughter, long moved out, did not take care of. Well, they gave me her information when I asked what this was about. My daughter sued them AND WON for them giving out her personal information to someone else. The debt was cleared and she got several GRAND...
So now my MOM, retired elderly woman with an unlisted #,is getting calls from them about ME. I owe don't ow anyone anything! I want to know how the hell did they get her number and what the deal is. So I've been calling for two days, can't get thru on any of the numbers I have. It keeps getting to the one point of connecting to the next operator then disconnecting. I am going to call the same lawyer my daughter used.
To the guy who said he worked for them. I wouldn't brag about it. I have dealt with collection agencies when our old health insurance would take six months to pay the bills, They were all very nice, worked with you. NEVER A THREAT.

they are without a doubt the most rude people I have ever had to deal with!!!!! You may call them professional if you want to but it is the exact opposite, The most unprofessional people I have ever tried to deal with, I tried being nice and tried to make arrangements to pay and it;s almost like they don't want you to pay so they can keep calling and hassling you, they get some kind of sick pleasure out of it, at least the lady (if you can call her a lady) that calls here does, she is a sick, rude, hateful person. I guess she loves her job, I would hate to be the kind of person she is,..........

I am contantly harrassed by these people who are looking for someone that used to have my phone number 3 years ago. I have explained this to 4 different people and they are still calling my ressidence. They have each time said they will take my number off their list. If anyone know where Doris and George Stottman live in Shepherdsville, Ky I wish they would find them. I have had calls from numerous agencies and collectors, in fact they are apparently still using my number at Dr's etc and then do not pay their bill. I am entirely tired of it and I guess my only solution is to change my number although the phone company said I would probably just inherent someone else's old bad news.

They've been calling me for two years now about *someone else* that I have no dealings with at all. Every time they call, it's some paki who can barely speak English. Yes, it's always, *ALWAYS* benn them that's been rude first, especially when they call at 8:30 in the morning. Just for that they get a good cussing. Once they open their mouth and I hear who they are and the pathetic English they speak, they get more cussing from me. They usually hang up after a couple of minutes of me abusing their heritage, parents, daughters and sleeping and eating habits.

As for the moron who said they're just doing a job...what has calling me, who doesn't even know the person they're looking for...have to do with *ANYTHING*!? People here in America don't do that kind of thing, which just goes to show we really don't like 'you people' here because you have no care to learn our customs and ways, you're just here to be the east indian or paki dogs you'll always be but on a different continent with better pay.

I have been getting calls from these guys too. They called last week, and I told the guy I can't pay anything right now because I have to stay home due to my daughter's medical problems. He asked if I could borrow from someone. I said I will see what I can do. He called back a couple days later, and I told him the same thing. Then this Monday another guy called and was kind of rude. And I told him the same thing. I said I MIGHT be able to pay something in a couple months. He said he would call back then. I've been getting calls today all day, that I have not answered because I don't feel that I need to tell 50 different people the same thing a million times. The first call came from an 877 number, one to two minutes later a call from an 866 number, and one to two minutes later a call from an unknown number. About an hour later another 877 number, and about another hour later(which I was not home for) another 866 number. I know I owe the debt, so they aren't lying about it, but I don't have my own income, and my fiance is supporting us two, and our two children by himself. So, he is unable to give me that kind of money as well. Also, these people that are calling, I'm not sure their names are what they say they are. They barely speak English. Sounds like they are Indian or Arabic. The first guy said his name was Mark Jones....sounds a little too plain and simple for it to be a foreigner's name. Sounds a little made up to me. The second guy said his name was Peter Brown, which also sounds made up as well. Idk...I'm not being prejudiced or anything, so don't get angry at my comments, I'm just saying.
The tips thing above said to find their license and see if they are allowed to operate in my state. How would I do that?

I have been getting calls from them for the past 6 months and I don't owe anybody anything. I suspect that it might be my son but, he moved out over 25 years ago and we haven't seen him in over 3 years. First the robo calls asking to press a number, which I don't ever do. Then calls from a person who asks for personal information, which I don't give out over the phone. They call and I hang up.

I have repeatedly received calls from these people - up to a couple calls a day. AFter numerous calls I finally asked what they wanted and they were looking for someone other than myself or anyone in my household. I asked them to get my number off their list.

The need to update their records and get their act together on a professsional level. ........................

I figured all of you would be interested in the fact that this company is finally out of business. The years of violations and illegal practices finally caught up with them, lol. The FTC should have fined them more than just the $225,000 back in 2009, maybe they would have been out of business sooner. Oh well, Good riddence.
