i never used cingular wireless 2 years before or after the date of 1st delinquency 10/2003.
i never received any delinquency notice from cingular wireless under my address for above described period. i live at my house for 6 years and never moved from 6 years until now. but while i tried to apply to satelite tv,i have found cba(collection bureau of america) report me to credit file. cba ripoff a dishonest, fraudulent and inaccurate credit reporting. if they know my address, why didn't the cingular wireless send me a notice letter to my address and did cba report me a bad credit file under my address?
please help me they do not cheat me.
thank you!

Hi tae

It is necessary for you to contact CBA and get the details of your account. Collection agency hits a credit file only after they have legitimate reasons for it. Either your creditor has hired this agency to collect the debt from you or have sold it to them, they should have done an initial communication with you after hitting your CR. If your account has been sold, your lender won't accept money from you towards this account and you will have to deal with CBA only. Talk to your lender and get the latest standing of this account. It will be much easier to deal with the original creditor and set up a payment plan with them.

Write a letter to CBA asking for debt validation of this account. The actual details of this account will be given to you in the debt validation letter and you can review it. Dispute with the agency if any item is shown incorrectly. The collectors will verify it with your lenders and give you the updated account.

After you have verified legally that the collection agency is not holding your account, you have the rights to file a case against them on charges of fraudulently hitting your credit file. Take the advice of a lawyer who specializes in the lawsuits of fdcpa and FCRA violations.

Well, i work for CBA, and i know for a fact that we arent gitting your credit without good reason. If there is a mistake file a consumer dispute verification. Sometimes, cingular just messes up and doesnt send the info

You are someone hired to troll all the different debt info boards and lie about how you think this company is legit.

this is zombie debt company and a total scam. Do not send them any money or give them any of your personal information, they are not a legitimate debt collector and use loopholes in our laws to literally steal your money.

Be careful of CBA as they will screw you over.

They will not remove incorrect claims. They say that if you pay the balance they will remove it, then when they get the money only mark it as paid and not remove the hit.

And Rocky, one of the managers is terrible and likes the power he gets from being the manager....

I have them hanging themselves in writing, as well as documentation that they refused Certified Mail..not to mention that AT&T says they didn't assign anything to them. Oh, and that is not even my smoking gun..we'll save that one for trial. All of this over a $65 non-debt that they paid probably less than $5 for.....

i actually just sent cba a letter of validation for a sbc bill for $647. they said it was opened aug 6 2004 and went deliquent sept 2 2004. i just moved to this house on aug 1 2004 and somehow accumulated a $647 bill? is it just me or is this timeframe a little crazy. Anyways through this forum, i was able to get some ideas on how to word the letter. i will keep everyone posted of my journey

has anyone recieved at least 30 calls with a important message for maria varga? after about the 10th one i pushed 1 on the keypad anfd connected to a person claiming to be a agent for c.b.a; all the person wanted to know why i was answering for maria varga and what is her birthday. as i have read books by henri maria remarque i had a tough time convincing him my name is maria, when i gave the "wrong" birth date the caller hung up. at bout call 25 i suggested the caller take advantage of the opportunity to acquire a box of snakes and a one way bus ticket to waco, seems the caller didn't like my suggestion, he hung up too.
during call 29 or 30 the lovely soft female voice asking for you guessed it a conversation with maria varga was asked do your employers know you and they are violating ftc regs? click. was the reply

Then you are biased, working or CBA, your going to defend them, whether their wrong or right, I paid my bill in full with the understanding that the account would be undate immediately and after I made my payment, they decided to use some BS excuse of company policy by waiting 30 days to update, then when I called them on it, I got nothing but attitude. They were saying, "we already got your money, screw you credit.

Collection bureau of America put a collections mark on my credit report when I moved, shut off Time Warner, and apparently owed them for a portion of the last month (I was on autopay, I thought they would just take it as they did the months before). WTF.

I spoke to them and offered to pay in full if they delete it from my account. They agreed, but refused to sign a offer letter which basically stated that I was to pay the full amount, and they would subsequently have to delete it from my account.

I almost "trusted" them. They said if I paid today, it would be deleted within hours. Uhm...no, not gonna do that. I'm annoyed because it's a pretty simple letter, with very little liability assuming they are not morons and want to help people out. Is there a way to report to the original creditor, Time Warner, and let them know I'm TRYING to pay this but CBA is being impossible to work with?

These people from Collection bureau of America are very very rude. They said they were calling my husband (of 40 years) on behalf of time warner and that I owed over 200.00. I found it funny becuase for the past 10 plus years I have auto pay by time warner. I told the guy that there were 7 people with the same first and last name in my town and he said "not with your phone number". I tried again to tell him it wasn't me and He then told me to call me back when I got it all figured out. I immediately called time warner who went back to 2001 and said nothing was ever past due nor were there any notes (as they always do) saying that it had been sent to CBA. I told Time warner I was going to tell him where to put his paper........ We laughed. I then called back CBA and after a little arguing and insinuations that maybe I don't know my husband. he asked if we ever stayed at a certain address. I said no and then came the magic words "We must have the wrong person which was what I had said at the beginning way before I was furious.
