Gofreecredit.com / Gofreecredit :

Has anyone ever heard of a company called GoFreeCredit dot com?

I received an email from them today, I went to their website and they are advertising:
free unlimited access to your credit report for 60 days online, automatic notifications of changes to your credit report, a detailed personal analysis, and details of who has reviewed your report.

small print: By ordering a free credit report, you will automatically be enrolled in a 30 day free trial of credit monitoring. You will receive automatic notifications of changes to your credit report. You will be billed $12.95 for each month that you continue your membership if you do not cancel your membership within the trial period. You may cancel anytime - there is no obligation.

does anyone have any feedback on them, good, bad, indifferent?

I use GoFreeCredit - I like it because you get the Free Report and the score is a real credit bureau score (mine was Transunion).

Plus, i had a credit card stolen before, and I didnt know it. The monitoring protection emails you if any changes happen on your report or score, and emailed me when someone tried to open a card using my info.

Nascar so instead of a monthly fee of $12.95 (or whatever the average monthly fee is) you have to cough up the full year which averages out to be about $7.50 a month, do I have that correct?

And even with that, you only get the equifax score? Or is the Equifax score only available in the free trial, but all three available with the full year?

or am I really confused?

Gofreecredit.com scam / Gofreecredit scam:
this is my first post btw, hello everyone! I came across this and yes, I tried Go Free Credit.com recently. i thought it was easy and I liked getting my score fast.

we were buying a house so I got my credit score directly from a credit bureau and they matched up exactly to what I saw on GoFreeCredit. it turns out the use your credit history and score from one of the bureaus, but you get it for free!

i guess i chose gofreecredit because they had the longest monitoring trial, which was pretty cool.
hope that helps.

I never got a link to where I can login to my account. I saw somewhere online that I should go to creditreport.com to login, but when I called creditreport.com, they said that they are not affiliated with gofreecredit. Does anybody know gofreecredit's phone number? The number I have is 1800-883-3309 and 1800-720-4420 (they both go to creditreport.com). What is the link where I can log in? Thanks alot!

DO NOT USE THEM...All these posts above are fake as well as the site. It's a scam site...You enter in all your information and they use it to access your accounts.

They even have some fake sites for search engines set up to make them look like they are real. It's a pretty elaborate scheme they have going.

It's a huge theft identity scheme...

I posted an ad for a rental property on Craigslist.com. This company copied my ad and removed all of my contact information and posted it as a new listing. Instead of my contact info it had a link "for more infomation" that states that the owner requires all applicants to fill out a credit report. It is false. BEWARE!!

I signed up for GoFreeCredit.com -- used them for about 8 months and decided to cancel, it was pretty simple. Just called them. Can find all the info when you login

Login at gofreecredit.com/memberlogin.php

Do not ever use GoFreeCredit.com -- they are absolutely a scam. Sure there is technically a seven-day free trial, bu in order to cancel it, you need to call the company even though THERE IS NO NUMBER LISTED ON THEIR WEBSITE.

Their number is: 866-883-3309, if you have already gotten duped.

I only got that number after calling my bank to dispute the charges (only $30, thank goodness, but this was after I had tried multiple times to cancel) and make sure those low-life scammers stopped stealing my money.

STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAMMERS. Get your report from one of the big three, even if it is more expensive. It's better to pay money than to get money stolen from you.

Nonsense.

Nonsense. I found the number in 2 clicks. And also if you are a member, they give you a customer service affiliate number to contact anytime you have any questions.

This business has been in operation since Apr 04 and was accredited by the BBB in Feb 08.

They show 23 complaints on the BBB. HOWEVER, BBB has this note:

Say what you will about the BBB, but they investigate EVERY complaint and even the frivolous ones are still counted against the company. Consumers complain that the BBB is too business friendly. And businesses complain that the BBB is too consumer friendly. I'd say that proves their neutrality.

Another bunch of meaningless, anonymous "complaints" which have no bearing in the real world - which requires documentation - i.e. EVIDENCE. If you have a legitimate complaint, you need to file it with the proper authorities - the BBB, the FTC, your State Attorney General, the Bureau of Consumer Affairs, etc. etc.

If you want a totally FREE credit report, that does not ask you for any bank acct info, go to annualcreditreport.com

i got my credit scores from gofreecredit.com . They actually have legit service. I got all 3 scores. and my report. and the price you pay is for the monitoring service. so incase something happens on your record you can see it without being to late.

I signed up cause i went to rent out a apartment and the landlord said i had a 610 credit which was impossible.

I found out that some dude had opened a credit card under my name in texas or something..

long story short.. i got the report.. fixed the problem.. got my life on track.

Annualcreditreport.com is the site where you can legitimately get your 3 credit reports free once a year. Also, if you want, you can purchase your FICO score from the individual credit reporting companies. But just to be clear, your FICO is NOT included in your one free credit report per year from annualcreditreport.com

As for gofreecredit.com, it sounds like freecreditreport.com where they tell you that you get your report for free with enrollment in whatever "protection" or monitoring service they have.

This is definitely a scam. They are fishing for people all the time. I avoided the problem, but was solicited through an elaborate scheme involving Craigs List listings for apartments for rent in Santa Monica, CA. After responding to an CL ad for a place to live, I received an email from the supposed landlord who mentioned that I should pull my credit report before she would arrange a walk-through of the property. The email even had a domain called landlordtools.org, which actually has an associated website that pretends to be for landlords and realtors to list their properties and communicate with customers. On further inspection, you see that this website has no contact information, nor any way to use their services at all. All in all a very elaborate attempt to get your personal ID information, etc. Who knows what else they are doing. Watch out!

Agreed. These are both scam sites:

http://www.linksecureservice.com/creditreporting.php
http://www.gofreecredit.com/

Do not use these services! If you posted on Craigslist that you're looking for an apartment and received an e-mail referring you to either of these sites, don't believe it and move on.

I just had someone steal my identity and use this site to, I guess, see if it was worth it. Most credit reports need a social security number to run your report. From what I have seen, this one does not. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SITE. For them to run your report without your social, only based off of a credit/debit card number, there is something fishy here. STAY AWAY!!!!

Talked to gofreecredit.com today 9-01-2010, this was my experiance,

When you sign up at gofreecredit.com they do not send an email or send you to a page with info about your account. The website loops. The company that owns gofreecredit.com is Credit Score Complete , in which they have a seperate website. I contacted Credit Score Complete and at first they try to say they didnt own gofreecredit.com. When I read that on the very first page gofreecredit.com states that they are Credit Score Complete. He then stated will its a third party that sales are services. Then I asked am I going to be charged anymore. He stated that not by them I wouldnt, but gofrrecredit.com I might. I then told thats funny because I recived your phone number from my bank. Your phone number is associated with the charges on my account and it is you charging me, NOT gofreecredit.com. And that time he said, no you will not be charged anymore and you will be refunded. What is the most disturbing about this is that when I called they couldnt even find my account or credit card info., even though they had charged my account twice!! THEIR PHONE NUMBER IS 1-800-316-8750

I canceled my membership the first day due to the fact that the website was very evasive when I tried to find even a hint of information about my billing amount or due date. I called 8003168750 and expressed my concern that as far as I could tell they have access to my debit card and could slam my bank account for any amount they choose. The lady on the phone (Shawna) says to me, "so you want to cancel?" I then replied "not really, I just want some verification of their service' you know things like what is the monthly charge, when is the billing date just the normal stuff you ask when you trust someone with your card. I tried to explain how evasive the site was but all she would say is "so you want to cancel?" Finally I say Yes I do. She said the monthly fee will not come out, the account is canceled and confirmation #153411 (which I had to ask for). Now I have a 15.95 from gofreecredit.com at my bank. Buyer beware, I covered all the bases but they still took the charge. Hopefully Visa will disable their charge privileges since they are not a responsible vendor.

Don't they have any particular section in this site wherein you may register your complaint? I had once lodged a complaint with the confirmation code (also mentioned the name of the lady for reference) and they reimbursed me for the entire amount.

And right on their Website, they have an Affiliates program. The Landlords probably receive kickbacks for sending their potential tenants through the site. Everyone needs an extra buck.

Right on their Website:

If you have any questions or concerns you may call us at
Don't advertise for them.

I just signed up for a "free" report, with a $1 trial of seven days, then to pay $19.95 a month, if not cancelled. Before I got a report I was served a page offering another free trial for identity protection and could not get past the page to get my Credit Score, though I'd provided my billing information and credit card information too. I feel like I just got stolen from.

Complaint Posted 1/14/2016

NOT a Free Credit Reporting provider

I just went through providing information for a refi, followed up with the solicitation for a FREE credit report, getting through the multi-pages of questions, the final page solicited my credit card for a NON-POSTED amount, and this final page did NOT list a telephone number or webpage to refer to , so I opted out of the final page. I googled the name and found a email address, as well as a number of "COMPLAINT COMMENTS", this page included, so that's a red-light to begin with, so I sent off my comments this morning. until they either REMOVE the "FREE" referral to their webpages, or actually provide a "FREE" report as solicited, DO NOT ENTERTAIN THIS WEB PAGE "GO FREE CREDIT.COM"....ITS A SCAM! This query does NOT allow for a ZERO star rating.so disregard the single one for these comments.
