I am attempting to settle/negotiate a debt with Firstsource Advantage LLC, but the number in the letter they sent me (1-866-276-8306) just keeps ringing w/out an answering machine, and the number I found online (716-564-4400) is apparently disconnected. Any idea what gives or what their real # is?

Verbal requests don't mean diddly. You need to send a written letter telling this company to cease and desist contacting you via ANY means. Send it via certified mail with a return receipt. Once you get that receipt back - hang on to it. If they call you again after that, that's when you've got them.
Be very careful with these people! I have been dealing with their bull for about a year now. I have sent a cease and desist letter and they continue to call me as well as some of my family members!! Today they threatened my grandmother that they are going to file fraud charges against me! Although I think this is crap it still worries me! I am sending out another cease and desist letter and a payment tomorrow. I just don't know what will happen next. I will not give them any bank information because of everything I read so I hope that by sending in payments it will help the account. Any suggestions from anyone please let me know!!!
Don't send them anything. Place your number on the Government do not call list. If they call the number record them and you will own their company.

You'll need to check on the do not call list specifics - i dont think it applies to a company that you have a "relationship" with. Just not sure if the "relationhship" is legit with a collector but could be as if you really owe money, and they are collecting on that debt, the do not call list may not help.

another beauty.well since this is a total bottomfeeder they really don't collect legit,or real debts now do they.i would never make an arrangement with this trash heap of a JDB.why you ask?because since they never furnish anything in writing, and their cretins want to use the phone as a therapy session they get reported, not paid.

I received call from this company today, First Source Advantage LLC. It is a Cape Coral, FL phone number and when I called it back got real person who identified company as such. I hung up as I have no idea who they are or what they want. I also blocked my number before I called so they can not trace it back to the number they called. The number that called me was 239-214-8436. They did not leave any messages either when they called.

Firstsource Advantage is actually a very customer service based call center that does not put forward any type of scam. They are actually very willing to work with all customers, as long as the customer is willing to work with them. About the "do not call list" it does not apply if you have a file in their office, if it is the wrong number: Simply pick up, ask to remove the number(they might verify it is the wrong person), give up to 24 hrs for the number to be fully removed, then you will not hear from them again unless you end up having a file in their office or someone else listed your number as theirs. Plain and simple, I don't see why everyone makes false claims about the company.

do NOT give them any information... it's a scam. ignore them. if you do have debt, then take it up directly with the people you have debt with. but these people called me and i have 0 debt, and they were still trying to get my info.

They called me looking for someone I don't even know. I told them to stop call by saying " Please remove my number off your company's call list the number is listed in my name witch is XXXX XXXXX not XXXX XXXXX " And they keep calling

When they call, they will leave a phone number. As with every collections company, they deal with more than one creditor and each creditor has a different number that leads directly to the group handling your account. Listen to the message left and call that number back. If it is a wrong number say so and ask to not be called again, if they call again then you can send in a C&D letter if it continues then you take legal action. As for the do not call list, they are not a solicitor so they are not subject to the do not call list.
