These people keep calling my parents so I called them back with the number they left. I am not working but I am trying to pay off my debts, by sending money orders with money that I make doing what small jobs I get. I offered to pay the 250 dollar debt they say I owe by sending 25 dollar money orders each month. They say that they cannot accept a money order even if it were 100 dollars a month, and that I had to have a bank account number to give them. I have no bank account. They said that I had to get one from a relative or someone which I can't. So they said that the account would sit until further action is done to me. How can I pay this debt if they would not accept money orders? Other places have and do accept money orders from me. I have paid off some of my debts this way. Is Focus Recievable Management legitimate or is it a less than honest business and what can I do to help this situation.

I spoke with this John person before and he wanted my personal bank information. I told him no, so we got in a heated conversation, I simply told him that I will call and make my monthly payment. ( I used a prepaid card, please look into gettng one they can only take out whats there). He got mad and put is manager on the phone and I explained to both of them " THAT I WILL CALL EVERY MONTH AND THEY WILL TAKE MY PAYMENT.. THEY CAN EITHER TAKE THE PAYMENT OR NOT. I REALLY DON'T CARE. He went on about how he will contact discover and tell them that I don't want to pay them. People don't fall for it. I told him he could tell them what he wants the statement remains the same for discover either they will take the payment or not. Which one is likely to happen ... THEY WILL TAKE THE PAYMENT. Don't let these people scare you. They call my house 3 maybe four times a day I have caller ID I don't answer the phone until I'm ready to make a payment at the end of the month

I keep getting phone calls from this company - Focus Receivable Management - up to 4 times a day. No one is there when I answer the phone. I called them back. When I tried to get their address information to send them a letter, not only would they not give it to me but hung up on me 7 times thereafter.

focusrm.com
focusrm.com/global/contact.html

This is Focus Receivable's website. You can find their contact information there. If you want to mail them a certified "cease and desist" letter the addresses are on their website.

They also have a page for online payments. If you use a prepaid card they can't attack it and clean you out.

They're calling me to, but not leaving any messages. It's strange that they'd call me. I don't owe anything. If I ever find out who they're calling to find I'll know how to word the "C&D" letter and fire one off.

These people are crazy. They call my cell phone about 20 or more times a day. They never leave a detailed message and they are very nasty with any messages that they do leave. I have no idea what I even owe. I have a home number but they call my cell.

If they are calling you that much it would probably be worth your while to have your cell number changed. Tell your cell phone provider you are being harassed by the number in question and they will not stop, I am sure you can probably have the number changed at no cost, under those circumstances.

Focus Receivables is a joke. They use jerks as henchmen to harrass people into paying their debts. I have a huge debt and have faithfully been paying this company. I have paid them over 5,000.00 towards this debt. Last week they gave me a settlement offer, which was good, but I couldn't pay it right now. They suggested that I not pay my mortgage or car payment in order to pay them. When I said I couldn't, he became enraged and accusing me of holding out on them. I changed my banking information so they couldn't debit my account. My husband is laid off and I'm the only one in the family working, I'm doing my best. I have since sent them a cease demand and they are still calling me. I have gone to legal extents now. I don't answer the phone, but save the call history. I have sent them a second letter that someone there has to sign for that way we know they got the letter. The agents name is Gary Crenshaw, he is a liar and a jerk. A poor choice of personel.

That is what Direct TV does. Because of the number of accounts that go bad, Direct TV has it so that ALL ended accounts go to collections if payment is not received in two weeks of the bill being printed. I found this out the hard way as well. I closed my account and thought the bill was due as of the date printed on the payment coupon....not at all! I guess the majority of people who close accounts pay thier bills within a couple of weeks (that is what Direct TV averages) so if ended accounts go past two weeks, they go to collections. However, that collection agency is not supposed to send out a bill until 30 days has passed. The lady I spoke to at Direct TV told me this. I couldn't believe it! What if I pay Direct TV and then Direct TV never got back to the collection agency to advise I paid? Duplicate! And if you didn't save a receipt or a long time has passed and cannot prove that you paid it....you have to pay it again! Criminals!

Had these people call me at my home looking for my sister. Called here 4 times in 3 days. Never has had my number. E-mailed them with the updated information and they still called. After the fourth time, they finally figured it out after I had to get nasty which shouldn't have to happen after the first time they called. Didn't give me any information when they first called or who they were looking for. Just said to called them immediately about a debt they were attempting to collect on. Need to do their homework before HARASSING and calling other people that are not involved in their attempt to collect a debt:twisted:.

These people keep calling me - about 4 times a week.
I've only had this number a few months, so obviously they are calling for someone else. They keep leaving messages and every message is exactly the same: They give me a no to call, and then say, "Reference File No."
YES - they end the message without giving a file number, nor do they even say who they are calling for.
When I did answer the phone, there was nothing but silence.
When I did call them they could not tell me anything because I did not have the file no. I asked them to stop calling, but to no avail.

My first call from Focus came this afternoon. I had a stroke six years ago, and decided I would not go to my grave owing anybody anything. Every bill I ever owed, including any medical bill has been paid. I've never used Direct TV, I do not drive, and I have no idea why they called me. When they called, all they did was repeat my telephone number, not my name. I called them back at the number they gave me. No answer, so I left a message, only leaving my last name, telling them I owe noone, and asking what bill?!? I called again a half hour later, their phone rang and rang and then left the same extension number.

I am waiting for them to call back. When and if they do, I will make a list of the personal questions they insist on getting...I'm confident they will not have a "debt holder" name since I owe no debts.

If I do get a series of personal information questions, I will take that list, and contact someone official, VERY official, NOT the BBB or the like. Focus is phishing for information...and that in and of itself seems illegal.

No, I came close to dying, and I am not scared of the likes of Focus...I aim to bring them down if they bother me!

No Scaredy Cat Here!
