Has anyone ever heard of National Center for Unclaimed Funds? I got a letter from them stating I had 30 days to respond to them that they were holding funds due to me. It sounded really fishy. I've googled and looked them up on ripoff but I can't really seem to find anything.

Before I call them I wanted to see if anyone else had gotten anything from them. All I know is there based out of California. There is only a PO Box listed on the envelope. No physical address.

I'm not expecting money from anything. I just thought it was odd that I would receive something like this.

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

btw....I wasn't sure which forum to post this under.

that is a scam.i got that too and it is one of those that ask you for your info that way.i just delete it every time as i have gotten more than one.

You can also go to your states Unclaimed Funds site-not sure exactly how it would be listed, and it will list all the people who have unclaimed funds. I think I found ours once on our States website. That is the legal one. I had a friend that had had a deposit from many years ago on a utility bill that he collected.

There were alot of people in our area getting those type of letters, and the news station did a story on it. Turns out, you send them their "finders fee" and they tell you if you have money--a complete scam!!

I have been trying to do research on The National Center for Unclaimed Funds for at lease three years now. The number that they gave me to call and speak to someone doesn't work. The message always says "the number you are calling from in not valid, please call back from a valid telephone number" I was told that I have six checks that they are trying to mail to me, and til this day haven't seen one. I am very thankful to know it is a scam.

I received the same letter back in March of this year. I am not trying to be funny, but do you owe Drive Financial? After trying to find their company information using 411.com and couldn't, I did call them. Needless to say it was a ploy for Drive Financial to get my telephone number!!

This place is definetly no good. I'm pretty sure they work for a bill collection agency, they call my house up to ten times a day for a relative trying to get info on him and saying that he has a rebate. I know this relative recently lost his job and has not been paying his bills so it only makes sense this company all of a sudden started calling. Who actually calls 10 times a day to GIVE you money? Not a chance!

Let's set the record straight once and for all concerning the National (now Northern) Center for Unclaimed Funds.

There is no money, no checks, no settlements.

This letter is a ploy for Drive Financial...which as you should know is a legitimate company that provides financing for automobiles.

So if you get one of these letters, it means that either you owe money to Drive Financial or your car is in repossession and they are trying to update their information to find you, the car, or both.

I got a letter from the NCUF and it was from the Arizona center, i researched them on the BBB and the rating for the center in california had an F rating so i let the rep Bryan Burrell know how i felt about it and he informed me that National Center For Unclaimed Funds was based out of california the exact name of the company who send me the letter but the attorney general shit that site down for fraudulent activitys using customers account number to take money from there account and debiting things basically stealing there money...so after i knew that and he directed me the BBB of Arizona it gave them a B- rating i verified little info and about a month later i had my check for $275 was pretty nice it came right before cheristmas time ....

I received the same letter from the national center for unclaimed funds in February 2010 & i believe it's a scam, otherwise, why they wouldn't send you directly the funds they claim they have for you specially since they know so much about you like your name, social & address.

Wes hall see today is Monday. I don't believe it.

Hi,

Just to let you know that it is not of any use to call and harass someone who has recently lost a job, because definitely he will not be able to pay,Its only after he gets some way to make the payments through some repayment plans or in easy installments. It will be of no use if the collection agencies even tries to grab your address or phone numbers if you are jobless and cannot make payments

I got a letter from them on Monday and called them back like a dummy...they just asked for my address and the last four of my SSN which was on the letter. I called them back today which is Friday and the lady hung up in my face!! I'm a little scared as to "what" they would want that information for... I'm going to the police in a bit. Then I'm leaving a nasty message for this Elaine Sainsbury!!! This taught me a BIG Lesson!! Just say NO..lol

This should be against the law. I too received this letter. This is false advertisement. How do you put a stop to this? They told me that I have to sign for it, so I guess this will assure them that the person really lives at the address. What a scam. I'm so sorry that I called.

There is a website that you can go to for your free money. If they were legit dont you think you would have the money by now! They verify your info and come repo your car! When you get this letter in the mail ignore it if you are behind in payments!

I unfortunately fell for this and can vouch that they trick you into believing that you have money owed to you from some settlement and they will even give you an exact amount. The very next morning, someone came and took my car. There was never a check. When I tried to call them back, the number 877-206-8276 had been disconnected. In my case, I was glad to have the car gone finally, however I feel like I was also part of a con game. What I wonder, is it legal for them to do this in such a deceptive way? Because if they would have just come out and said they were a car repo, I would have said cool, come pick it up!
Thanks for clarifying
