I received a letter today from the above. Thinking this was my local Bank I called the company. They stated that I could opt out on who they furnished my credit info to if I called and told them. I got a recording asking for my account number (if you dont have your account number give us your Social and then the recording asked for my zip code.
Later I questioned my actions and called the President of my Bank. He stated he has never heard of them. I checked the web and it is loaded with complaints about this company.
May I please hear from you.

I just recieved this letter stating the new credit card agreement.... I see the address is Columbus, Ohio and its got only a P/O Box. As I am relocating to another country and have been cancelling local credit cards and well also ones in USA that I have had in past... This letter I knew right away was a scam as it says a min payment of $25 per month would be applied and of course bull shit as I do not have a credit card with these people and that I know. I just called the number and yes got the same thing where it asked for account number then when you say you dont have it they ask for Social Security Number. Right there I know its a scam and pure identity theft which is quite a big issue in the USA. It is late but the service said to call during 9-5 which I will do tomorrow just to see how they actually try to do this. I look forward to asking them some questions and talking to someone to understand why they would want to work for people who are scam artists.... and how they could possibly feel good spending their time on such activity. The world has so many wonderful things here and we all have a purpose. It seems some get sidetracked by money and greed and forget about the real fundamental values of life.

God Bless. LOVE xoxo

I received a phone call stating that my account was late. When I called, I told them that since I signed up to go paperless for my NY & Co. Credit card, I have received no e-mail stating that my credit card statement was available.
They insisted that they did, however, they have no way to check that it actually arrived in my inbox. I asked them to send me a test to see if they have my correct address and they can't. They won't send me another statement until I spend money again, which I don't want to do or have no need to do right now. Is this there way of making some extra bucks with finance charges, late fees and a fee of $10 to process payment over the phone. One will never know.

I guess it would be looked upon as your own responsibility to stay informed about your due date. Our credit card statements are drawn on a particular date. If we know the statement date, it becomes easier for us to calculate the date beyond which the interest would be charged. If you don't have any paperwork, it's always better for you to take a note of it somewhere.

Anyone with problems with World Financial Network Bank needs to contact the Ohio Better Business Bureau and complain. World Financial Network Bank controls 120 million American's credit cards and credit scores. I am working on developming new federal regulations to control thire credit rating scheme. The US Attorney will need to have a complete public record of the problem with World Financial Network Bank to pursue any complaint filed in court. Here is the contact number for World Financial Network Bank and Alliance Data Systems (owner of World Financial Network Bank):

Ms. Robin Wooton, Customer Relation Manager
World Financial Network Bank/Alliance Data Systems

and copy the Ohio BBB with the letter or email.

I didn't get a mailing, but got a phone call saying that I owed money regarding my Express account. First off, I asked to have it closed years ago, and second, I haven't even shopped in that store in years, to expensive. They did, however give me a number to call and an address so I can dispute it. I still have a "recovery agent" calling my cell though. I do not know what to do. Especially now that I have seen this.

I just stumbled upon this since almost 2 weeks ago I was called from them regarding my American Signature card being late even though I never received a bill, I paid what they told me to over the phone and today received a letter saying it was still past due. I wanted to try to set up my account online to see what the situation was and found this.

The only reason I paid them over the phone is because this is the 2nd time this happened to me with this bank!!!

They also finance my Victoria's Secret card (had no problems with that but I have had it for years). The finance my Limited card too.... On both occasions (Limited and American Signature) they sent me my card and that made it to me just fine BUT my first billing statement mysteriously never appeared (nothing wrong with my post office, this happened over 2 yrs apart in 2 separate states!) and then I got a phone call saying they hadn't received a payment although I never received a statement!! Then they assess a late fee of $25 in both cases I was able to get them to "waive the $25 late fee" by paying over the phone BUT was then told I would be assessed a $10 fee to pay by phone and have payment credit that day and that there was no way around that!!

Just curious how often this WFNNB does this to customers?
It looks like I'm not the only one that this happened to!
And in the case of the American Signature furniture I had just had it delivered 2 weeks prior to getting the call about being past due so I wouldn't have even expected a bill yet, let alone it being past due since even the order was placed only 3 weeks prior to the past due call!!

Guess they don't expect anyone to complain about $10-$35 bucks and if they can do it on most of their new customers they probably make a lot of money.... something to think about

Got a second request to pay a debt (at a reduced amt) even though it was released in bankruptcy. they seem to ignore responses from you explaining the situation. I will contact bbb in ohio for help. contacting people who have declared and completed bankruptcy is illegal.

WFNNB actually finances credit cards for over 100 private labels including Express, HSN, Victorias Secret, Gander Mountain and many more. Many UNINFORMED consumers do not know who finances their credit cards. If one recieves an opt out letter, it means that they should call their creditor and ask for that company not to share their information. By bypassing the IVR one would easily found out who they are dealing with. I work for the company and have for 11 years. This company is traded publicly with the ticker ADS. A very legitment and respected credit company in the industry. Do your homework before assuming you're being scamed!!

The reason different area codes show up on a caller id is because a dialer system is making the phone calls. The dialers are housed in different locations and the phone # depends on which dialer generates the call. If WFNNB is calling you its because your probably in default on your credit card.

Chefnan: If you're recieving calls after a discharged bankruptcy its because you either failed to include the named account in the bankruptcy or your attorney did not send out proper notification. This is a federally regulated bank that would have had its bank charter pulled many years ago if it were in the business of violating FDCPA laws.

Stacy M: If you're getting phone calls from a recovery agent that means you either ignored calls from the actual bank for 6 months or were uncooperative with them. The charges may have either been misposted to your account or fraud. There are very simple procedures in place for both situations if you cooperate. Hanging up on bill collectors doesnt make the problem go away, which I'm sure you've found out.

Its always funny to me how willing consumers are to give out all of their information to get credit, but when they default on their credit card agreements all of a sudden they want to become tight lipped about the very same information.

Canadian Girl: You can thank the CARD act passed by our lovely president for your increased minimum due and and change in terms. All banks have had to change their credit card terms in wake of this act. To blame the bank is ridiculous.

If you're not recieving your estatements is probably because of your spam settings. Come on people start taking responibility for your own actions.

I used their credit card obtained from Express, one time, paid it in full and cancelled my account. Last week I received another credit card with a different number than the one I had before. Called the 800 number and when I was asked by the automated system if I wanted to cancel the card to press 2. I did so and the voice kept on giving out a list of options to reach in customer service just like I hadn't clicked on 2.

When I went to Contact Us, I too was asked to supply my credit card number and my social security number. No way man, was I going to give them that information. Since I don't seem to be able to cancel the card, I'm going to destroy it and not reply to any of their mailings.

Wfnb is a debt collecter but they also scam people. They sometimes take your info and use it to settle debt but also sell your information to scammers or justscam you them self. Hang up on them or don't answer because if u speak to them and make them mad or give to much info then the will falsely charge your account and put stuff on your credit report which is not true

World Financial Network National Bank. If there are two WFNNB's, Neither is legit. The company that handles debts for department stores scams its debtors by creating false late charges and tacking on interest. WFNNB starts by putting you on paperless billing, waits a few months before they activate it. Then they start calling you to let you know that you are late, even before you get a paperless or paper bill. You then have to beg them to send a paper bill. You pay your initial charges and they never drop the late or finance charges. What can I do to get them off my back and restore my credit rating that they screwed up? Do I need to take them to court?:confused::(
