A website/blog can help you share your thoughts and earn some more money (as dividends) in long run. Are you with the same thoughts OR am I am just a techy head?

Hmm, I would have a website to make money, but honestly I don't know how to do that. I don't have any web page experience. Also, how do you get advertising on your site? I guess it depends on the content.

Honestly, I personally don't feel that I'm interesting enough to have a blog that could make money for me. I don't do too many interesting things, so I don't think advertisers would pay money to advertise on my blog.

I just started writing a couple weeks ago for Associated Content, which I guess is similar to this. I have already started making money. So far, I've only made $10 for my published articles on my site, but I guess that's better than nothing, right? How long do you have to have a blogging site before advertising companies and people like that start asking to advetise on your blog? I guess you'd have to build up a pretty big following, right?

If I could add a bit on blogging.

Sadly, many people think that if they maintain a blog, their blog have to be perfectly and absolutely veracious.

Nothing can be further from the truth, You don't need to have the likes of Jk Rowling or Sidney Sheldon to construct a good blog.

Ironically, when blogs were first invented, they were used solely as an online diary and it slowly evolve into what blogs are at present.

There are various ways in which you can make money from blogs

The common way is adding google adsense and hope that you can attract enough visitors to make you enough money to buy the coffee in starbucks or any glorified coffee shops.

The sad thing about implementing google adsense or what have you is that advertisements irritates.

Sadly, you will lose visitors from the advertisements in display.

Thats why, how you display your advertisements plays a vital role in making you money.

If you are the kind that hates advertisement and thinking placing google adsense contradicts your personality, I would suggest doing the next.

Product review- You got to do your homework for this one.
Start getting traffic first- very important

write about how happy or sad in the recent loss of Man-u or write about how the swine flu is getting to be a pest, etc etc..

Place your blog on forum signatures which some of the forum members are doing.. (Frogpatch- nice blog by the way)

People are generally curious and will click on your blog and once you get enough traffic, start writing reviews on products and belief me you will get paid handsomely

Sorry for the lengthy post... just my views

To start earning money with your blog, initially use Google Adsense but gradually as your traffic increases, keep adding more and more money making programs to your site.

It sounds like you're creating problems yourself by trying to solve this issue instead of looking at why their is a problem in the first place.
