Does anyone know of any pther websites (other than Craigslist) where people can advertise if they have a part-time job opening, or need some help around the house or something? I exhaust Craigslist practically every day, I just wanted to know if anyone knew of any other similar sites.

Great, I'll try those websites, thanks.

I just think it's ridiculous that I'm so qualified for all of these part-time jobs I'm applying for, I'm even willing to accept the ridiculous pay they offer, but no one ever contacts me back. Are there THAT many peoply applying for these jobs? And even so, wouldn't they WANT qualified individuals? It's just annoying.

i agree.. i was a store manager in college and i tried to pick up a low paying sales job recently for part time hours (i really, really, really need extra money..). i was interviewed but thank kind of blown off. i have no idea what i did wrong as i overheard human rescoures offer jobs to someone else that day and explained openings they did have. at this point i would gladly work for minimum wage to get some kind of extra income.. :(

Me too! I've been DESPERATE for extra income! I even offered to clean someone's house on Craigslist for $10/hour, that's how bad we need money. My husband is doing the same thing, but no one's responding to him either. I'm even pregnant and looking for extra work!

I mean, I have solid references and a good work ethic if they just bothered to look into those things. Maybe they think since it's obvious I'm over qualified that I won't take the job seriously? That's the only thing I can think of.

i got turned down on an interview yesterday - they told me no because i already have a full time job and what would happen if i get overworked with two jobs.
what?!?!?! i always have had two jobs! i just got laid off my last one as the company got rid of all part-timers.. :'( i have another interview today but i am so crushed i waited months to even get these interviews!!

I know! It's awful! One lady turned me down because I LIVED too far away and she thought the commute would be rough. I mean, really! So now, I just start lying to people. If the job I am applying to is far, I will use my current work address or my parents-in-laws' address so they think I live close by. I also say that the reason I can't work regular hours is because I'm a student looking for part time work. I really hate that I'm so qualified and no one will hire me.

I hear you. My husband and I are expecting a baby and there's no way we can make it and save some money for emergencies. On the plus side, I finally reached 1000 Debt CC points, so I can cashed them in. I did hear back from a lady that wants me to clean her house for $10 an hour... she say's she's interviewing more people. I'll take it if she offers it to me even though it's crap money for a pregnant woman doing cleaning, lol.

Now I'm trying to sell my fish tank. I'm already selling it for practically nothing but I've had one guy who said he wanted it who didn't show, and two others who decided they didn't want it at the last minute. Oh well, back to cruising Craigslist obsessively.

It's amazing what people are having to go through these days...it's really sad and frustrating. I work full-time making decent money with no kids and I'm still struggling. I just quit my part-time job because I wanted to focus on finishing my Master's degree and it's only been two weeks and I'm already feeling the effects. So now I'm out looking for another part-time job, but I won't go back to my previous one because I was bumping heads with the manager too much. I look at indeed.com every monrning, that's on of my favorite places to look. Two weeks ago I cleaned out my closed and made about $800 on EBay so that was good.
