Maybe we should have a new forum on this board started, listing all the these advance payment loan scams. That way when people find this forum, they can go directly to,THESE LOANS ARE SCAMS for example. We can add them as we find out thier new names. Its getting hard to keep up with them, since there seem to be so many now.The following is a list of some I found posted on this board,I may have missed a few. These are all scams, they will ask for money upfront for the loan, either by Western Union or money order.Do not send these people money, you will get nothing in return. There are many sad stories on this board from those who got scammed,Please read thier post before you think about sending anyone your hard earned money.

I was almost taken by Hillsdale Financial, but listened to my gut and did research instead. Every website I have come across has the same story-6-8 pmts in advance wired to ensure a 24 hr turnaround from your "private investor". Problem is, anyone with a low credit score looking for a high interest loan knows they don't have 6-8 mths worth of payments in advance! BEWARE!!! Matthew Grafton 1-888-556-2683 x472

I was also scammed by Hillsdale Financial Group. I thought I did the research, but I guess not good enough, because I was on the Hillsdale Financial.com website and not Hillsdale Financial.net. I sent the first payment and then they called me back wanting me to send more money and I told them I couldn't afford it, but I would get a refund in two weeks. I knew then that I should have trusted them, because I called the number they gave me back and all I get is "Goodbye".

I meant to say in the last posting. They told me I would get a refund if I couldn't send more money, but I would have to wait two weeks. Well once they told me that...I knew I should not have trusted them. I called the number back the next day and all I got was a recording saying "Goodbye"

for me we can caught the scammer if we, western union or other money transfer and police have coordination...we must report them the name of person and if the person who get the money it means he/she the scammer...if we do that maybe the scammer stop now...just only opinion

Same thing just happened to me. The company rep said that they were in Rhode Island but had a Canadian accent. I caught onto her when she called me from a cell phone that is registered in Ontario Canada. I phone the 800 number and another man with a Canadian accent answered the phone. They hung up on me after I started asking more direct questions. Unfortunately, I had already provided my personal information. I had to close my bank account and notify the credit bureaus that my information had been comprimised.

Here are some pointers to help spot scam loan offers:

The company is based in another country (any country other than the one you live in.)

When dealing across international borders, you forfeit the protection of your country's legal system. If you're victimized by a scam operation in Canada or the UK, there's basically nothing the US courts can do to help you. This is the reason so many illegal payday lenders (among others) operate from abroad.

They want money up front to 'secure' your loan.

This is called an 'advance fee.' It's illegal, and you will lose any money you send. In a legitimate lending scenario, loan fees are deducted from the proceeds of the loan when it's disbursed, or added to the amount you have to repay.

They're using a 'freebie' email address (name@hotmail, or yahoo, or something like that.)

Reputable lenders (hell, reputable businesses of any kind) do not need Hotmail addresses. They use something that reflects the identity of their company, and can be easily verified. A loan offer from one of these type of addresses is almost guaranteed to be a scam.

When asked for further information on their company, they do anything other than provide it.

A legitimate company is proud of their business and its reputation. That's because they recognize that their reputation is one of their strongest marketing tools. When asked for more information, any of them will fall all over themselves to provide it. Responding to your request by sending you a loan application is not providing information.

Thier idea of advertising is to send you unsolicited commercial email, or post at random on Internet discussion boards (spamming.)

This is also illegal, and has landed people in prison. A reputable lender will never contact you by these methods.
