Give us the name of the payday loan companies - both storefront and online. Read the state payday loan laws. How much have you borrowed? How much have you paid? What is the interest rate on the loans? We need to check if the lenders are legal.

I ma in a similar situation where my relationship was toxic so I had to leave and I got into debt with these pay-day and installment loans. I ma to the point where I cant afford to pay it anymore. I was paying over $850 bi weekly to these companies. one of my bank accounts was closed because it became negative. I cant do it anymore. I would like to know my repercussions moving froward if I stop. Can someone assist on the legality of these companies and loans in CA? And will they be willing to settle for less or just the principal. I haven't been so stressed in my life, I have 2 masters degrees, and I am constantly stressed about this, I wake up 4am everyday to go to work and when I get paid I cant even go to a happy hour because all m money is gone. I need help.

Money key - $ 238 Bi-weekly
Jora Credit - $208 bi-weekly
Avio Credit - $212 BI-weekly
Uncle War bucks - $291 Bi weekly
Big Picture Loan - $254 biweekly

So after me and my girl friend broke up I moved out to get my own place, because it wasn't a planned move I didn't have all the necessary funds to move thus I took out a $2600 loan with jora credit. I have been paying them $208 since end of July until middle of January. I have developed some other debt and I am just not able to make these payment right now. I have consulted with Cambridge debt settlement and I was told based on my balance with Jora ($2600) and I already paid back over $2400. Cambridge said my monthly payment will be $312, my payment was reduced by $100 which is not enticing. I have a friend who had the same loan with Jora and she said she stopped paying it, they called and harassed her for a few months but eventually stopped and it's not on her credit report. I am wondering if I should take the same rout and hope they don't report me because I can't afford the $312 payment either.

Any Suggestions?

You can take that route but then there is guarantee that Jora won't report on your credit report. The settlement offer isn't that great. I agree. Why don't you get a free debt counseling from DebtconsolidationCare and know your options? You don't have to pay a penny. So you can always give it a try.
