Hi All...
Does anyone know if these two places are one in the same?
I haven't heard anything from them. Until last Friday I got an email from CPD. Then today I got one that actually listed customerservice@mycashnow. They were threatening to take legal action ("where you would have to appear in court") if I don't pay 1400 dollars in seven days.

And, I've paid over 700 dollars more than what I borrowed already.

Advice? Anyone else get this notice from them? Is it a scare tactic?

I need to know what state you are in also please. I've been reading about My Cash Call, it appears they are ruthless and notorious for making empty threats. I need to try and find out a little more info on them before I reply again, I did find this address:

My Cash Now
2071425 Marine Drive
West Vancouver, British Columbia
Canada V7T1B9
fax/phone: 604-357-1157

Hmmmm, there appears to be a lot of different addresses for this company, now there's a big red flag for ya, sheesh!

MY CASH NOW
P.O. Box 229
Margaretville, NY 12455

William S. Reed, Pres., Treas., Secretary, and Director.
Credit Protection Depot, Inc.,
4601 West Sahara Ave., Suite 1
Las Vegas, Nevada 89102

Acting as a debt collector for MyCashNow.com, Inc. (apparently chartered in Grenada - the independent country in the Carribean, not the town in N.Y.)

CPD is Credit Protection Depot and they strong arm for MyCashNow and PayDayMax. I had accounts with both of them. My MyCashNow account was paid in full by virtue of what they put in my account and my PayDayMax account still have a balance owing, as I had not yet paid back what I borrowed. They called me once, then one of my references. I tool my C and D letter, faxed it over to Mr. William Reed at CPD and when I called them back, they cleared my MyCashNow account, as I stipulated above and requested only what was still owing on my PayDayMax account. End of story. Don't bother with the Canadian address or the Margretville as they are prohibited in New York. Go straight to Mr. Reed at CPD. This is an email address for CPD . . . ."CPDCustomerService@CreditProtectionDepot.com". This is the number that you can call. . . .866-645-1661. I believe the fax is one digit more. . . .866-645-1662. I do hope this helps. Please keep us posted.

anyaroberts. . . .good to know. When I dealt with them it was way back in April and things do change quick in this business. Well this is interesting. . . . the phone and fax number I had listed is still a working number for CPD as I called it to see what would happen. So I guess I would say that anyone who is trying to contact them should send an email, a fax or a phone message to the numbers/email address above. If you can't get mail in, perhaps one of the other communication routes will have to do. You are being too kind by calling them "sneaky". I have a few other adjectives that I could use!

Since the loans are granted through My Cash Now and PaydayMax websites, but collections is undertaken through Credit Protection Depot, the fdcpa applies right based on this provision:

"The term ???????debt collector??????? means any person who uses
any instrumentality of interstate commerce or the mails
in any business the principal purpose of which is the
collection of any debts, or who regularly collects or
attempts to collect, directly or indirectly, debts owed
or due or asserted to be owed or due another. Notwithstanding
the exclusion provided by clause (F) of
the last sentence of this paragraph, the term includes
any creditor who, in the process of collecting his own
debts, uses any name other than his own which would
indicate that a third person is collecting or attempting
to collect such debts."

So if CPD keeps trying to call you or your references after you send a cease and desist letter you can get them on that violation, correct?

I am puzzled here. They have my phone number, my personal information, I have an idea some one has used my social number, my phone number, and used my email. What a low down thing to do to people! It sounds like a real problem, but can they do anything since my personal information was stolen, from Lord knows where and who? The company could be scamming people and using their personal information. They called my home number and my son told them they can not talk to me if they could not explain who they are> I know now from reading on here, who they are. It is a scam, they are stealing from people and telling we owe them. No way, don,t fall for it. They use scare tatics! Report them to BBB Report in their state and Rip Off Report Sunshine Lady

I just got a call at work from a girl claiming to be from a collection agency collecting for My Cash Now.
I told her first of all, never to call me at work again.
Secondly I asked her to send me a complete copy of my loan and all paperwork associated with it as well as a copy of the license for My Cash Now and themselves.
She claimed she had nothing to do with My Cash Now and that she was a separate entity.
What is this????????
If she won't send me anything official to validate/back up my loan, she won't see a dime.
So what happened to Credit Protection Depot collecting for My Cash Now?
How could she claim she had nothing to do with My Cash Now when she was attempting to collect for their loan?
Has anyone come across this before?

I find it suspicious that My Cash Now has no address at all listed on their website. What are they trying to hide?
I found info on a website: www.ripoffreport.com where a former employee does state that they are located in Tn. and Credit Protection Depot is allegedly located in NV.
I have been emailing with gov't financial people in Tn. and just received an email today where they state that My Cash Now is not licensed in their state-but they would like to check into them and wanted any info I had on them.
I also checked the online licenses for the state of NV and can find no license there for My Cash Now or Credit Protection Depot.
The people in TN are checking into this for me.
If this so called collection agency that called me cannot send me anything to validate what they want or paperwork showing exactly what I owe, they can look elsewhere for their payment.
She tells me she is calling about collecting on a debt to My Cash Now and in the next sentence tells me she had nothing to do with them???

My Cash Now, Payday Max, Discount Advances and Credit Protection Depot are all the same company. The NY address is not for any of them. The Canada addresses are the only place to send stuff however, it is just sent to Chattanooga TN where the "home office" is located. They no longer have an office in NV but, have opened one in Costa Rica. They best way to get stuff to they is via fax.
As far as the legality of it all they have the upper hand. When one agrees to the loan and their terms one becomes bound. The best way to get them out of your checking account is by revoking authorization. To stop the calls fax a ???????cease and desist??????? type letter to them, that usually works.
I know it seems hopeless but. I have seen people fight hard enough to cause disruption in their company. They will block calls from specific area codes or block applications for specific states where the state government has stepped up to the plate and swung really hard! They also monitor this site and ones like it and, by doing so they stay just one step ahead in the game. They know their stuff as they have several attorneys on staff and they are continually looking for ways around issues. They are not bound to ones state laws because they make ???????loan decisions??????? outside the USA. This information can be found in their loan agreements.
In all DO NOT get a payday advance type loan. They are traps that the average person cannot get out of. Good luck to everyone!

Hi Guest (a friend),

Send the collection agency, Credit Protection Depot, a debt validation letter, inquiring about the debt. You can find a sample debt validation letter in the following page: -
Sample Letters for your reference

Please also check whether the concerned collection agency, CPD, is licensed to collect in your state.

The truth about SUPPORT SEVEN Pay Day Loan companies

Payday Max My Cash Now and Discount Advances

I was employed with a company called CPS (Credit Protection Service) WHO RECIENTLY CHANGED THEIR COMPANY NAME TO ???SUPPORT 7". I am sending you this email to give you the general public an idea of who you are giving their money to. Support7 is the parent company for 3 Payday loan companies.

If you are not able to click link and go to web page, copy and paste link in address bar of explorer.

All the calls coming into the above companies are taken by 2 two call centers. One in Chattanooga Tn the other in Costa Rica, they send the money they make outside the US to a bank in Panama. The information you give to them either on line (unsecure website (look for the lock)) or over the phone are given to other internet marketing companies.

I urge you to follow the links below (if you are not able to click link and go to web page, copy and paste link in address bar of explorer)

all the pages are identical. To be fair you should read all content, but pay attention to these sections

1.How we use information we collect

3.Information we share with Affiliates:
4.Information we share with Third Parties

These links take you to the Disclosure section.

I urge you to read these sections, again to be fair you should read all :)

If you use these companies there is a chance some or all of your personal information will be sent to other companies. If you receive this and deem it necessary by all means spread it around. Send it to family, friends and neighbors. The more people know about these companies the better.

Guest 27,

They actually told you to fax an "apology" letter? OMG!!! LMAO

Shazzers is correct a debt is NOT a criminal matter. They can only file a civil suit, and you cant be arrested for a civil matter.

They are just trying to scare you into making payments. :(

Can you give us more information about your situation?
like what state you are in?
how much borrowed, how much paid back?

Hello,

My cash now and several other debts companies been going in and out of my checking account. Making many transactions without my permission. They are saying that I have taken loans from them. I have never heard or taken any loans from them. Now my bank account is -$2,600. What should I do? Please help? I also got a phone call from a debt company call Cash net at work. They told me that I wrote fraud checks and owed them alot of money. They had threatened to bring me to court if I refuse to make any payments. I had asked me to very information about me. Which I did and it was a mistake I made. Filed a police report and came to find out that it was a scam. Watch out everyone! They are trying to scam us!

First of all, you won't be able to fully close your account while it is overdrawn. Go to your bank and don't be embarrassed to tell them what has happened. Set your account to deposit only so you can bring it back into the black. Once you have a positive balance, close it and open another so these people can't take any more money from you.

Are your loans internet or storefront? What state are you in? How much did you borrow, and how much have you paid back to date?

I made the mistake of accepting a pre-approval of 180.00. That same day, I came across all these complaints and what not and immediately wanted out. I closed my bank account that I had provided to mycashnow that same day and thought that I was in the clear since, obviously, if they can't loan me anything, I don't owe them anything. Right? Well that was about 2 weeks ago and my new bank account that I opened after closing the first one has the loan in it! How??? I'm not using any of the money they gave me and plan on having the amount they say I will owe them on Dec 3rd (when I get my next paycheck) but all these complaints make me very nervous that they will try to withdraw more than they say I owe or will claim they never received payment even if the money is sitting in my account for them. I would like to avoid closing another bank account but I can not afford to get into as much debt as some of the other people who have dealt with this "company". Advice please?!

I made the mistake of accepting a pre-approval of 180.00 from mycashnow. I discovered all these complaints right after completing the loan agreement. Well, I desided I immediately wanted out so that same day, I closed my bank account that I had provided to the website thinking if they cant loan me anything, I dont owe them anything. Right? Well, that was about 2 weeks ago and low and behold, the loan has been deposited into my NEW bank account! My savings account at that. How?! I'm not doing anything with the money that was deposited. I plan on leaving it in my account plus the 28.00 fee they say I owe on Dec. 3 (when I get my next paycheck). I really don't want to close another bank account so hopefully they will withdraw the correct amount and that will be that, but all these complaints are making me very nervous that they will attempt to withdraw more or tack on more fees they failed to mention. Super stressed and just want to go back in time and unclick "I Agree". Advice please? Can I do anything legally since they deposited money into a bank account I never gave them access to?

First tell them verbally that they are not allowed to call you at your place of business. Then send them cease and desist letter from contacting you and any other phone numbers they have listed for you (www.privacyrights.org). Then ask them to send you via e-mail a worksheet verifying the amount of the loan and the fees associated with it. And then have them list within the worksheet any and all payments made from the starting date of the loan to the present. Ask them if they could send you those same documents via US postal service certified with a return receipt. This way you will have a record of the payments they have documented and an addresss to cross reference with the BBB and the FTC also an address to send court documents to if need be. But do not send anymore monies thru Western Union or Money Gram to CPD from this day forth. Now tally up your payments and if your payments equals the principal balance and then some send them an e-mail and fax attesting to that. Also send them a written notification that you are revoking any and all of their ACH priviledges with your financial institution. It is a possibility that they may mark your account Paid in Full. And don't forget to ask them for a confirmation e-mail and faxed or mailed letter that the loan has been Paid in Full with their letterhead on it and signed by the head of the Institution that initiated the loan. Good Luck.

It appears that I am in the same boat as all of you. I recieved threating phone calls from the collection agency, one of which by a lady who was extremely rude for no reason. Some how all of my information was given to them and I know for a fact that I did not ask mycashnow.com for any of their services. They apparently have all of my information including my address but not once did I ever recieve any documentation stating that I requested a loan from this company. I checked my own personal records to ensure that there wasn't any deposits from this company and lieu and behold not a single dime was deposited into my bank account. This company needs to be stopped. Any one who has any unjust run-ins with this company do the right thing, report them to the Better Buisness Bureau and take any measures neccessary to protect yourself against these blue collar criminals.

I have tried to leave a message with CPD, and MyCashnow, on the email kept coming back undeliverable, and they don't have a voice mail system.

Megan called my house, and then called me at work, my employer tells them that I am busy, and that it is illegal to call people at work.

I have filed a complaint against her with the Federal Trade Commission, along with others.

I would file a complaint with them with the Federat Trade Commission, here is the link:

https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/FTC_Wizard.aspx?Lang=en

I have an email that I tried to send, I would love to send it.

I will consider my contract with them, null & void, and any other company who calls me at work. I have filed complaints with others as well.

Good luck! If I call them during the day, heaven help this Megan. She will hear an earful.
