hi have a loan with united cash loans. i have been having some financial set backs and having a difficult time in paying these creeps. anyway i faxed a letter stating not to call me at work and that i will be filing a complaint with the attorney generals office, which i did. this morning i had a voicemail from them that i had 48 hrs to call them they did not say what they would do in the meantime. they called me again today and i said that i had faxed a letter to them and they can not keep calling me at work, and the guy goes on talking like i never even said anything. now i am really pissed mostly at myself because i should have just hung up on him, but at the time i had to keep my composure as there are people up and around at my desk and then got bullied into making a payment arrangement. any advise out there???????

Yea, a piece of advise, DON'T let them bully you! When they call hang up, they can call until they are blue in the face, they cannot make you do anything.

And I think that they are apart of MTE, I could be mistaken. But wait on your response from your state AG, did you send a complaint to the FTC or the BBB as well??

These companies SOMEtimes will back off when they see you have filed something against them.

Give it a try, and good luck!

What state are you in? I dug up some info about them here http://www.debtconsolidationcare.com/nevada/about23550.html, according to that poster, they (United Cash Loans) are not licensed to lend anywhere in the U.S. Do you still owe them money? I would send them money orders through USPS, and don't over extend yourself. Next time they call, hang up.

I found this info that Goudah posted about Mass at the following link:

Georgia

Iowa

Maryland

Here are the laws for Massachusetts.

I agree with others, if they call, just hang up.

Ralphapena, I've had that happen w/ PDL's, as well; they'll "generously" offer me a new loan. Hopefully nobody falls for that, it's just one of their sneaky ways to get your new bank info if you've closed your account!

everybody!!!!
i got my first response from the bbb RE united Cash Loans.
" at the time of the application the term and conditions were presented and the customer had the opportunity to print them at that time. they had to answer a question whether they understood the tems b4 we could even receive the app to process. in addition, there was a 48 hour time frame the customer could cancel the agrement without incurring a fee. b4 each debit we sent an acount summary which explained the terms once more, and all of the options for repayment. this form was emaild at least 10 days b4 each debit. it also included out customer service number to ask any additional questions. we also have a direct email link on our website to anser any inquiries if the customer had wanted to avoid additionals fees, they needed to pay the full amount due on the first debit due date which was in the original contract, as well as the acount summary emailed to the customer very shortly after the funds were place in their own account for their own use, at their request. the original loan documents can be faxed directly to the customer once we are given a fax number to send them to. WE WILL STOP ALL COLLECTIONS AND DEBITS ON THE ACCOUNT AND WILL REDUCE THE CURRENT BALANCE OF $410.00 TO $140.00(THE GIVE THEM CREDIT FOR THE $120.00 PAID BEFORE THE ACCOUNT WEN TO COLLECTIONS ON THE FULL AMOUNT ON THE FULL AMOUNT AGREED TO PAY OF 260.00)
SO IN SHORT IT WAS NOT EVEN $300.00 THAT I BORROWED -- UNITED TRYED TO RIP ME OFF AND MAKE ME PAY $410.00
I TELL YOU THERE IS NOTHING LIKE THE POWERE OF THE KEYBOARD . I KNOW IT IS A SMALL VICTORY BUT I AM SOOO RELEVED TO KNOW THERE ARE PLACES TO TURN TO FOR HELP AND THAT I DON'T HAVE TO LET THEM BULLY ME INTO PAYING THEM. I HAVE TH WIRING INSTRUCTIONS AND I WILL SEND THME THEY MONEY AND BYE BYE OUT OF MY LIFE.
SORRY FOR THE LONG EMIAL I JUST HAD TO LET YOU ALL KNOW.
