Has anyone ever had any experiences with RJM Acquisitions LLC NY? I received a letter in the mail from this company about three weeks ago about a fingerhut account that I had 5 years ago (or more).

RJM is one sorry ass company and I would to have my
day in court with them.

I have received a bill from the above for a supposed debt on a credit card I never owned. How do I handle this?

Received letter from RJM Acquisitions stating that I owed $144.41 to Household/California Fed Visa Classic from 1984. Letter stated that I opened the account in 1982 and made last payment 6/19/84. I never heard of this company and did not have a Visa card at that time.

Bill Boyd, I can't believe that they would think consumers are that ignorant. The statute of limitations would have run on that alleged debt in any state in the nation, and very long ago. LOL and the proof is all there in their letter, (with the date of last activity). Send them a cease communications letter and tell them that per their letter with the date of last activity, the statute of limitations has run on this "debt". If they ever try to sue over it, file statute of limitations as a defense, show the court their letter, and it will be thrown out quicker than lightning. It will never come to that though I'm sure.

Darlene, if you got the same sort of letter from them, also do the above.

My husband just got a letter from them too. A bill from Fingerhut like some of you. We don't order anything from them or anyother mag. so I'm going to call them Monday morning and hopefully this will be taken care of like it should be.

i believe the crossing book club is those books you order or your kids can order in school by just signing
your name. I actually ordered some books when i wasin elementary and many years later it showed up on my moms report. you should really think back.

Have they validated the debt as per the fdcpa laws? If it has been done, then it will be better to pay it off as early as possible so that you improve your credit file.

WHAT IS FDCPA LAWS?

i have received a couple letters from RJM saying that I owe on a previous bank account. I have cleared up everything with the bank several years ago and even called them when i got this letter from RJM. my bank told me to not worry about it as that my accounts with them have been clean for several years.
