I got into the whole payday loan mess. My bank decided last week to close our account due to too many overdrafts. They closed it on Tuesday, but still took the check that was direct deposited on Friday. Can the do that? They didn't even bother to tell us, they just closed it. I am glad it is closed, because the loan companies can no longer get to our money, but now I have no way to cash or deposit checks. I don't know if I can even open a new account anywhere. Anyone have any good advice or suggestions?

Here is the bbb.org information on them, I would call the number and act like you are inquiring on a loan. They will tell you to go to mycashtransfercenter.com if it is them. I do believe it is, call and ask the loan question to confirm. Let me know if this works.

Northway Financial Corporation
P.O. Box 1216, Oaks, PA 19456, Montgomery County
(877) 377-3517

This is just one of thier many offices, I know this is a cashtransfercenter office, call and confirm.

Collection is out of washington, information in my last post.

OK guys. I am confused. If Cash Transfer Centers and Northway Financial Corporation Ltd. are the same company, and I got an email saying that their contact info is Northway Financial Corporation Ltd.
of Level 8 Suite Plaza Commercial Centre
Bisazza Street Sliema SLM 15 Malta

Does this mean that they are not licensed in the US. Would this be their main office. I looked and can't find a license for them in Oregon. I keep getting phone calls and they keep telling me they have every right to loan in oregon. I sent an email to our state attorney general, but I haven't heard back yet. I was just wondering if one of you might know the answer.

"I keep getting phone calls and they keep telling me they have every right to loan in oregon."

They will tell anyone they can that they are licensed to do business in whatever state it may be. Part of this is just an attempt to wear you down, frustrate you into paying gobs and gobs of illegal interest, fees, etc... Be strong, you have the law on your side. It is far more likely than not that you are unable to find the so called license because it does not exist.

I would not at all be surprised if this company is really based in Malta. Out of country regristration can severly restrict state/federal action against them. Similar concept: Swiss banks.

Quick question. We have loans through ameriloan, and Unitedcashloans.com. I have been sending them letters about not being licensed in Oregon, and told them that I have contacted the Attorney General ect. well, I have tried to log on to both of their websites tonight, and I keep getting a message saying that the username and password are not recognized. Does this mean they are giving up and closing our accounts, or are they up to something. We have more than paid them off, but they still say we owe them. But since I can't login to my account, I am curious. Any one have this happen to them?

Strange. I just logged on to Paydayok, to see where we were at with that one. It says that our loan was paid in full on 3/4/2007 which was sunday. I have also been sending them the letters about licensing, and the attorney General. I am a little nervous, because I don't think it is this easy. I have read everything everyone post, and I can't help but feeling nervous. Will they really give up that easy.

I don't understand Payday OK. They say it was paid in full on sunday. I wrote to them when all of this started, and told them the bank account had been closed. It says on their website,Paid In Full.

Make CTC aware of your rights. CTC is in violation of many state laws. Find out how much you have paid on their loan and review it with your state laws. I don't think that you should pay them more than the principal amount since they are not licensed in your state. File your complaints with the AG and pay any outstanding balance on the principal amount. After this, all calls must stop.
