What is the process that Sonic Payday takes to assign a wage assignment? Will someone notify me that this is being done or will it just be done? Also does anyone have a sample letter revoking the wage assignment?

Thanks
Kathy

In the state of Wisconsin does an employer legally have to honor a voluntary wage assignment.

I have a loan with USFastCash. They took a $150 renewal fee out 9/30/08, and on 10/2/08 I called to pay off the loan. They said I had to pay another $150 plus the $500 loaned amount. This seems like double charging to me. Is there anything I can do to legally not pay the $150 charge again?

How does wage assignment work with online payday lenders that are out of country? Do federal and or state guidelines still apply in regards to notification, signature in person, etc? Do the laws of the country where lender is supercede? I am dealing with Northway Financial Corp. LTD.

Any help is appreciated as I am lost and have not slept since I received this notice yesterday. It states a return date of 4/6 in IL. bal due 1315 with a judment amount of 890
this is something that occurred in 2005 and I don't know what this is for after searching the court records. I have lived in place place of over 10 years and never received a summons. Is it too late to send in a verification of debt?
they have already sent to my employer with a 4/15 deduction.

Does anyone have a current physical address for Sonic Payday? I need to mail my certified letter revoking my wage assignment, but all I have is their address in Malta. I see a Winnepeg address listed in old posts, but I'm not sure if this is current. I have a fax and e-mail for them, so I'm good there. Thanks!

Dear Sir or Madam,

I hereby revoke your right to use any wage assignment I may or may not have signed with you. You no longer have my permission to use this wage assignment. If you fail to abide by my wishes, there will be consequences to your actions as I am sure you are aware. I have sent a copy of this to my employer, therefore any wage assignment made by your company will be denied.

Sincerely,
Your signature

If you did a payday loan through the internet and did not sign the wage assignment in person then it is not valid? Do the companies use this as a threat to scare you into repaying faster. I have every intention in paying it back but had some issues come up. They are threatening that they will have to close the file and send it to a third party collections ( it is less then a month old) and also threatening that i signed the wage assignement and they will notify my employer. Can I still revoke the wage assignment?

yes you can revoke a wage assignment at any time, but it is best to revoke before the illegal pdl submits it.btw check and see how much was borrowed and how many debits in illegal fees hit your account.being as sonic is not in this country therefore illegal.you only owe the principle borrowed.you may not owe this place anything.

I am a victim of identity theft and I am now finding out there are 4 payday loans in my name. What are my legal rights for these and am I legally bound to pay these loans?

Thank you.

I am now starting to get phone calls from payday companies and a couple of them worry me. I know that although the phone numbers are from the US the people making threats are not in the US. They're saying I will be served by local law enforcement and will have to go to trial? Last night they said my employer will be notified I could loose my job. Is this legal and do I need to take legal action? Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Please ignore them!!! If you a victim of ID theft, just send the companies a cease and desist letter. Hopefully you have filed a police report...send them a copy of that too.

Hi Marta,
I would not think you would be. However, I would keep documentation of the recent identity theft, be it a police report and other items, handy. Do you have the names of the Payday Loans? Also, they would normally debit from a checking account, so make sure that they do not have your account number.
You need to contact each PDL, let them know what happened and tell them you can provide proof. Good luck and keep us posted.
