it depends,my friend's took 13 business days.granted that was from IL to CA.sometimes a bottomfeeder CA or PDL might just refuse it or have it sent back as undeliverable.that isn't common,but wait till begining of next week.then you can track it on the USPS web sight.

To what I know and what I read here on the forum Atlantic Finance and credit is one of the worst CA and bottmfeeders

just wait it out my friend.once they sign for that letter.they can't pursue any further collections without opening themselves

I am going to wait and see how long it takes for me to get the receipt back. What if they don't sign for it? What do I do if I get the whole letter back?

as long as they don't know your sending it.they should sign for it.on the chance they don't,that still isn't so bad.as long as the address you sent it to is valid,if they don't accept it that could also be taken as an admission of invalidity.i wouldn't worry till it actually happens.i think these jamokes will reject it.

I put my address on the envelope like on a normal letter, is it going to make a difference when they see that my name is on it.

I just went to USPSDOTCOM and it seems like they got it.

So I should be getting my receipt any time soon.

What do I do Know? Do I just wait till they respond to my letter?

You don't need to do anything else. As long as you sent your DV letter within 30 days of the CA's initial dunning letter, they are prohibited from making any further collection attempts until they validate the debt. If they can't validate it, it's likely they will sell it to someone else, and you will have to start over with them.

I just will have to wait to hear back from them.

You may not even ever hear back from them! If they can't validate it, they will proabably just sell it to someone else, eventually.

well after a few weeks I Received my DV letter back from Atlantic Finance and Credit. What do I do next? Do I keep disputting the debt or should I try to settle the debt?

Do you mean you received it back unopened? Did they refuse to sign for it or was the address incorrect?

No i actually got proof of the debt.

What type of proof did they send? A copy of the original contract.etc?

No they only sent one sheet of paper with the original creditor, amount that I owe, last payment date, and charge off date.

Thats it nothing else.

Doesn't sound like validation to me. Send them another DV letter requesting an original signed contract along with proof that they own the debt and have a license to collect in your state.

None of that is required under the fdcpa. The only way you'll get that is thru the Discovery phase of litigation. You can ask but they are under no legal obligation to provide it.
