what can a storefront check n go do to me if the loan has been in default for 2 months. i have sent via cert/ret.rept. a payment plan proposal, do not garnish wages, and have sent a letter to AG. Do they always wait this long for a response, or do you think they are getting ready to attatch me. My checking account is closed.

thanks,

Actually, I do believe that if they are storefront, they are probably licensed to lend in your state, which opens up the possibility of a civil suit against you. You may want to read your loan agreement with them and see how they handle their collections.
Here is your state Payday loan laws for Illinois(just select your state), hope this helps.

??
I would call this number for more information on your state, they would be able to give you information quick.
what I was stating above about civil is that just because criminal action is prohibited does not necessarily mean that civil isn't, not real sure how IL handles this, you are better off calling the number for more information and getting it straight from the horses mouth. Goodluck, hope this helped.

Your state does allow for a repayment plan. Have you made any payments to them since you sent the letter? I would make them a payment along with sending them another letter stating you would like to make payments to settle the account.. That way even if it does go to court, the judge will be more likely to act in your favor if you have been making them payments. :)

Send me another pm. I didn't get anything from you. On my post, look under it and you will see "profile" and "pm"
Click the "pm" button and there you can send me a private message. Has Check n Go contacted you about this matter? I think I would send them what I could afford, even if it is $20, along with a certified letter stating that you are making payments to settle the balance.

In the end, after much going back and forth, they want your money for the loan. They will eventually allow this. Brownsugar has been through the ringer with them and a few other storefronts and in the end it comes down to, "we want our money", the storefront has a physical address right? They receive mail I imagine daily from the postman? Probably do, mail it in to the storefront directly.

I know. LOL. Like a person can not figure out the storefront has an address which receives mail from USPS. LOL. I highly doubt they are going to turn down the payment via money order sent to them, just keep it up on a regular scheduled basis and show you have good faith in taking care of the debt.

As a prior employee I can say that is it is a payday loan and it's been this long chances are they have already 3rd partied the loan to another collector as they do that pretty much within 60 days If it was a installment loan they would not really do anything until 55 days past the last installment payment due date. By the way all should get out of checkngo as fast as you can as this company is trying to get as many people as possible to get into debt.
