I've been to several banks today plus on the phone and NO ONE WILL PUT MY ACCOUNT ON ACH BLOCK/HARD DEBIT/DEPOSIT ONLY!! I explained everything but they won't do a damn thing for me!! I've opened a new account buy my direct deposit is going to my old account where all my debits from the pdls are coming!!

They won't close my account either since I have a direct deposit coming, and said that deposit would only reopen the account even if the account were closed. Plus with the pdl withdrawals they said even if the account were closed it could reopen due to the withdrawals. I was aware of that, THAT'S why I wanted ACH BLOCK/HARD DEBIT/DEPOSIT ONLY!!

I have rent due. My deposit DOES hit before the withdrawals so I CAN get to the atm and get my money, HOWEVER that leaves me with all the pdl withdrawals that would put my account in the red! Add that up with Bank of A's $35 nsf fees and it would be too much! How I hate banks!!

did you talk to a branch manager? They should be able to do something. can you have your work stop your direct deposit to that account?

Get your payroll company to get you a live check immediately. Tell them it is fraud and it must be done immediately. If they give you that two pay period crap get a supervisor Then deposit it manually in your new account. I was able to work with BOA but it took me six months and filing complaints with the OCC. I finally found a VP that straightened the mess out

why cant you change your direct deposit to a different bank. Why keep it in an account that the pdls can take from.

happened to me once...right when the rent was due too, I had only $100 left in the account and there was nothing I could do but get like 5 more pdl's to make rent. I would close that checking account immediately and if you have a savings account, do your transactions through there, then later on, reopen or get another checking account

Don't listen to whoever told you that. I had BofA to and I closed the account (with ACH's from my credit card companies coming) and all that happened is the processing was refused. Change your direct deposit; close the account, end of story!!

Do not let BOA fool you, they can and will place a credit only status on your account. Go in the branch and speak to someone over the branch managers head if you have to. I know it is a fustrating process, but you will have to keep after them. I had to go all the way up the a VP in Charlotte before I got relief. Do not take no for an answer. You will have to go in the bank and get your money out, but that is better than them posting the debits to the pdl's
Is it too late for your company to send your deposit to the new account?

I bank with BOA. I believe they call it a balance hold. What happens is it freezes your account. Nothing can be taken out when the freeze is on. When your direct deposit it scheduled to come in...it doesn't post on the on-line banking or phone system balance info...however, it is there. Go in on the day your direct deposit should be there and ask the manager to lift the balance hold so that you can withdraw your money. Once you get your money, have them place the hold back on. Since you've already opened another account, just explain to them that you are waiting for your payroll deposit to start posting to your new account.

I am assuming your account is in a positive status. I don't know if this works if it is negative/overdrawn. Is your account overdrawn?

Keep on BOA they have idiots @ their call centers. it is best to go directly into bank and lay it on the line. Others have done it, so I know they are blowing a bunch of hot air :x

i found it's always best to go right to the manager. Commerce gave me a hard time, though.. I remember this one woman kept saying "this is not how a bank is supposed to work" she kept telling me to file a police report! As you all know, that wouldn't exactly help from them draining my account. In the end, I overpaid by close to $400 because commerce wouldn't do it correctly. But I kept trying and eventually reached someone helpful and knowledgable. Just keep asking, it will only help you.
