I am looking for some help. I have stayed up many late nights trying to figure out what my best option is. Like everyone else I am trying to get out of debt as quick as possible without destroying my credit. I have an excellent credit score. I am about $23K in debt. I am current on my payments and I pay more than the minimums. However on 2 cards, I am paying 23% and 25% apr! I am spending like $450 a month I believe in interest alone.
I have been talking to a settlement company who tries to make me feel like everything will be all peachy keen when Im done. But they cant guarantee my creditors wont report the end result as "settled." And its scary when they tell you to let your chosen accounts go into default.
Anybody gone through the settlement process before? Are you happy with your decision? After it was all done were you satisfied with the result?

I also have 6K cash looking for what my best option is to proceed with.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Shop around for some settlement companies. Those who have already dealt with your creditors will understand their language and shape positive results of the negotiations for you. You can register in this site and get a counseling call from someone in your area. Besides, you can also check the ranking chart for the list of companies in your area.

I signed with Consumer debt relief LLC. But I cancelled it yesterday as I visited a site that someone mentioned here and they had a coupld of complaints that after they had signed up with the program they did not negotiate with the creditors or return their calls causing them to file bankruptcy.

I will keep shopping and looking at my options...
