As of now, I am up to my ears in debt. I am looking for a debt consolidation company that will take a college student with no job and only a little over $5000 dollars in debt. Oh yeah and the key word is FREE consolidation.

I know I have to pay something. It's just that I do not know how to drive yet (weird, huh). Ergo, I can't go job hunting like I want. Work Study will only work for a little while. I want to work on E-Bay, but I don't have the means to buy things to sell.

My mother will help with the payment costs if only for a little while (she's in the whole herself).

To make a long story short, I really need consolidaton. I have over 6 credit payments to make and no means to pay it with until the end of September. By the time I make my first payment, I will at least have some money in the bank.

Ok Celice..didn't mean to imply anything.
I'm assuming you live near or on a college campus? Is there any job opportunities there within reasonable walking distance?
If you've signed up here, a counselor will contact you and go over some options.
Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Yeah. I will be back on campus in a couple of days. The only jobs available would be a Dollar General across the street. But I don't want anyone to see me working there. I guess I'll swallow my embarassent and ask for an application. Beggers can't be choosy.

Of I sounded mad or anything, accept my humble apology. It's just that I am in a rut and do not know where to turn. Where do I sign up, Or didd I do that already?

No prob princess, debt isn't a pretty thing!
When you registered you should have filled out a form for someone to call you. They are super helpful and you don't have to pay anything for the counseling.

As for the job....it's more than admirable that you be employed, doesn't matter where! When you're getting that steady paycheck you'll start to feel good about yourself. When you start paying off your debts it's like nothing can stop you now!!! lol
Good luck...let me know how it works out for you.

princess, you need to enter your contact information at the sign up page to get the free counseling.

Also, having some income to meet your expenses is the priority in your situation. Don't feel bad if someone finds you working in a general store. No work is low enough. This works well if you can make your ends meet. No one is there to help but yourself. It's said that 'God helps those who help themselves.' :) Cheer up!!

They are from California. I tried calling their number and their head supervisor, but he is either out or some guy with a funny accent answers. I'm starting to get skeptical of anything west of Arkansas because of a recent credit card scam from Las Vegas I was nearly involved in.
