In a nutshell...I got laid of twice in less than 12 months, and needed help so I acted out of desperation and took out payday loans, both online and locally. So far, I've been able to keep up on the payments for these things, but it's put everything else in jeopardy. My little girl will be two next week and it's not fair to her to have a mommy who's stressed out and worried about money all the time...it's time to take back control of my finances!

I'm so glad I found this forum yesterday...it's given me more hope than I've had about my situation in a very long time! I'm going tomorrow to place a hard hold on the bank account, since my husband and I can't go to the bank together until Saturday. I've already written a letter to the worst offender of my PDL's and will start the notices that I'm revoking their right to raid my bank account immediately! I know it won't be easy, but I think it will be easier to fight now that I've got this wonderful resource to help me fight the good fight!

I'll keep you all posted as I go along this journey!
I know the outcome will be great, but who knows what lies in between!

You will get abundant help for sure. This forum has been helpful to many. Many people here will hold you along until all your problems are solved or at least you find an easier way to tackle it. Experiences teach a very hard lesson. We all are going through our own share.

When you go to close your bank account, don't forget to keep in touch with your lenders also. They may try to take any actions against you when they don't get money from your account. The worst thing will be to deal with the debt collectors doing shady businesses. Try to avoid that situation at any cost. Keep in contact with the companies over the phone also so that you remain updated.

Of course...I should have included them in my initial post...

JD Marketing
SJM Marketing
VC Capital
ameriloan
Interim
Ambassador (aka Nationwide)

I'm not as concerned with the storefront companies, I can pay them down a little at a time so it won't be so bad. I just don't like the ones that take my money out before my paycheck hits the bank! :P

Pernoleum,
Welcome to the site, I hope you find a ton of helpful information. I can tell you that I have dealt with three of the online lenders you have and here is my experience

JD Marketing
Placed a hold on my account, sent a letter revoking authoriztion and also stated that they would be receiving a proposal from my credit counselor. Made a follow up call about a week later. They said they received my letter and they were just waiting for my proposal stating my payment arrangements. They also thanked me for calling them.

ameriloan
Closed account and called to let them know, sent a proposal and started making payments, never gave me any problems

SJM Marketing (Platinum B Services)

This is the worst one I had to deal with, sent account to nasty collection agency and have been receiving nasty harrassing phone calls. Be prepared for this one. Do a search and you will see what I am talking about.

Hope this helps you out a little bit.
