:x I am so angry because I have been dealing with route 66 funding and can't get them of my back. I am a single mom and it is hard paying of my regular bills and paying for school. this place keeps charging me $79 every two weeks. I'm afraid that if I call my bank account and open a new one that they will harrass me at my job. I don't want them to call my supervisor. I work in a huge hospital and It would be a very horrible thing if they called and tried to collect from my supervisor or from anyone else.

..but you can't allow them doing such things and make life miserable. Others are also experiencing similar problems with Route 66 Funding these days. (Is it a specific time some companies take charge in spreading their misdeeds????)

Do you have their number? Call them and see what the latest standing of your account is? Their is a time when the payments must stop and the loan gets paid in full. You should be sure of how much is the balance before sending them further money.

Your bank can block Route 66 Funding from doing further debits, if you seek help in this direction.

Im so angry at Route ^^ Funding - I spoke with them last week and told them not to withdrawl anything from my account that I would mail in a money order. They said that it was fine I could do that. I mailed in my moneyoder for $350.00 then today when I look at my account they have taken another $437.00 my loan was only for 200.00. I went online and reported them with the Better Business Bureau and thats what I think anyone having problems with them should do also.

Hey everyone out there dealing with route 66 I had them too and I was payign $79 every 2 weeks until finally I just wanted top get the thing out of the way. I called them and explained my financial status they worked with me, got rid of the finance fee to pay off the loan, and too $100 out for three opaychecks then it was finished. If they keep charging you the $79, and you're letting them, it's your own mistake, call them!!! They will work with you, but don't be ignorant some of the people there truely want to help you. You have to want it!!

I had a loan with them and paid over $700 in fees and nothing against the principal. I finally closed my bank account, got a demanding letter from them, sent them a letter stating they were operating illegal Georgia where it is illegal to have payday loans, reported them to the AG. They quickly backed off and marked my loan as "paid in full". Keep after them and don't back down. You can get it worked out with them.

"Route 66 Funding Legal Department" called my office number today, and I answer the phones. I go by a nickname only, so when he asked for my full given name I knew is was a collector. I said "she's not in right now, I'm the office manager, may I help you?" He said exactly where he was from, and demanded to either speak with me or my boss. I told him that the owner was not in the office, but at a client's home, and "I" wasn't in the office presently. I then said that our employees are not allowed to take personal calls, and he then said that this wasn't a personal call. He kept asking for my name, and I finally told him that I wasn't comfortable with his conversation & reiterated that we are not allowed personal calls. He then told me to "get in touch with her immediately, and have her call me in the next hour or two", and left his name/number/extension.

Wasn't he in violation of something with that call? Can I lodge a formal complaint with someone?

Beth -

You can file a complaint with your state's attorney general or the state governmental agency that deals with financial institutions and lenders. However, please be advised that Rt. 66 is not licensed to do business in most states (they claim to be licensed in Nevada, but I haven't even seen proof of that yet).

They are also not located here in the US. They have offices overseas in the UK, but they don't even follow their own country's laws - let alone ours. They are very difficult to deal with, very persistent and will talk to/threaten/demand payment from anyone they can reach in your company.

Maintain your current practice of not allowing them to talk to anyone. You may end up going through a day or so of them calling every 2 minutes - seriously - but just keep either hanging up on them or repeating the same info to them and they'll eventually give up.

Have you already paid them the principal of the loan they gave you? If so, you're done with them.

I've had dealings with this company in the past - let me know if you have any questions.
