Collection agency question

Has anyone heard of a collection agency called A.S. & Associates? I had a bad experience with one of their aollectors this morning. Basically, they called me at work and told me I might go to jail because of an NSF that was used to try and pay off a payday loan.

Also, there should be no use of scare tactics and jail threats while attempting collections. Don't fall intimidated to their scary moves. There are federal laws to offer you legal protection. Send a debt validation letter to the company's mailing address and keep yourself in the safe side.

You will find more about your legal rights in the FDCPA laws. Go through the federal laws to know how you can handle such collectors doing rude collections.

What state do you live in? Generally, you cannot go to jail on bad check charges for NSF related to PDL, b however there are a few states which do allow this.
