I just wanted to pass along a call I had with Angela Bell at Sonic (actually she has been pleasant compared with some of the other people I have dealt with in the past) I told her I know the next step would be to try and garnish my wages, she indicated it is illegal to do that in the state of texas. But she still has the right to contact my employer. Any ideas where this new tactic might be coming from ?

In this case CTC is considered an original creditor. Original Creditors ARE NOT governed by the fdcpa. Truth is, Original Creditors have very little restrictions on what they can and can not due under Federal law, and where federal law is silent, state laws then kick in (hence why they cannot garnish wages in Texas).
